It's definitely got a learning curve! Not an easy game to get used to.

This was one of my favorite games as a kid.

I own this game for the 64. The play controls are atrocious. TBH, outside of the Wayne Gretzky 3d hockey, most NHL games for the 64 were not good at all. The EA ones were just as bad.

So you were kind of right when you said it is similar to Sinistar, but it’s really much more like another old game called Bosconian (TF1 is pretty much a clone of Bosconian). The goal is the same: blow up all the bases to get to the next level. The side scrolling levels are a lot more traditional.

You’ve mixed up Thunderforce with the helicopter game Thunderblade. The Thunderforce games are really good. The original was a Japanese PC game and only had the overhead levels. This one has overhead and side scrolling. The sequels - which are awesome - only have the side scrolling.

There’s not much reason to look at Neo Geo CD games except possibly better music. Other than that, they are going to be worse versions of the cartridge games. The cartridge memory is so fast that the Neo Geo reads directly from it as if it was RAM. The CD drive is slow and data has to be copied into its limited memory, which usually means worse animation, missing sound effects, etc.

Emulation is definitely off with this one. There are sound effects for everything in this one...

One of the best Capcom games on the Genesis. This was back when you had to MEMORIZE what happens. Nothing is telegraphed like today with beginning tutorials and hand-holding. Back in the day, Super Mario Bros. was HARD. I mean everyone died at the first part where the first goomba appears because they didn't know what to do and this happened at every new scene as we progressed through the game. Just because you suck, doesn't mean the game sucks.

I was surprised to see the not enough memory message at the beginning- you are using real hardware for N64? I thought you were playing these on the PolyMega? Or the PolyMega uses a shared save file, which seems crazy to me?

I always really liked this game, despite its incredibly short length. The sense of speed is impressive, and when you get used to the controls it can he fun going for record lap times.
