The “It’s always been political” argument since 2015 is as much a blight on current day fandom discussion as groomers, predators, corporatisation of geek fandoms and the use of “skill issue” as retorts on bad game designs. A real weaselly copout answer to shut down any real nuanced discussions of being had and often a get out of jail free card to justify absolute slop by people who have no business being attached to the series. Coming from the same people crying about gatekeepers... While hypocritically doing the gatekeeping themselves.

Mutant Mayhem is kinda overrated, yes they're teenagers, definitely mutants, but the ninja element isn't fleshed out like at all! And the turtles don't really work on their own, like they're always together but they should've been alone for a moment in any chance for a much more better dynamic.

As an aside, April's curly hair in the original comics wasn't even her natural hair style originally too, she literally got a perm in one of the issues. But I digress.

Great Video but to let you know, it's not as strange as you think it is. Most big profit movies sooner or later got comic adaptations. I remember the two things that got me into comics were reading them and the Archie Turtles. I read Terminator 2 before I saw the movie. I mean nearly everyone had one, from Friday the 13th to the Goonies. It was a common practice.

The couple you see on the panel where Raph came out of "Batdude" is Jim Lawson and his wife Kathy as an Easter Egg Wink Wink along with Steve Lavigne as one of the punks Casey takes down in the next panels. Once Definitive Films releases the Blu Ray set with the extras; we will see all the deleted/unused footage of the 1990 film. I can't wait!

As a child I had an oversized colored version of the book translated into german. Back then it was called “Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles”, as it was commonly known in Europe. I remember thinking it was strange that it was so different from the cartoons.

This is my favorite movie. It has everything I love about movies. Seeing the movie adapted into the comic brings it full circle. It's the comic, based on the movie, based on the comics. Seeing scenes that were cut from the original script is very cool. It's like reading a movie novelization and getting extra insight you couldn't get from the movie.

@liamearly4883 they should let boom have the license for a few years as a testing ground just to see how well they do the ninja turtles, if nickelodeon/paramount likes what they do then give boom a license contract, and if not try darkhourse or some other comic booc company, just not marvel or dc

I get your point and respect your opinion but I think calling Rise a TMNT Version of Teen Titans go is bit harsh yes at the beginning it’s goofy VERY goofy and the humor is not for everyone but IMO it’s nothing like TTG what Rise does is to have the turtles rise to there status quo and having the show go darker when there at the status quo. I main problem I personally got with Rise is that the shift feels kinda fast and that’s because Nick didn’t have faith in it and cancelled the show before people got used to it I mean the 2012 wasn’t that well liked at first but Nick had faith in that one I think if Rise got it’s planned 3 seasons and came out a bit later (since it came 9 months after the 2012 show ended) it could have really connected with more TMNT fans and have more people respect it as part of the Franchise of course not liking Rise is fine I mean they’re is probably someone out there who doesn’t like the OG Mirage comics and for some reason prefers the next mutation or smt. I DEFINITELY aggre that some Rise Fans who only like Rise and trash everything else of TMNT aren’t really fans of TMNT but to say that Rise is a waste of Space and to basically detach it from the rest of the franchise feels kinda harsh to me but hey that’s just my opinion.

It's interesting that the entity that is the spiritual representation of the mammals and also the antagonist of this story is a rat like creature. Also, the mammals seen attacking the Father of Reptiles are also very rat like. The Turtle's mentor Splinter is, of course, also a rat like creature since he was a rat mutated by the same ooze that created the Turtles. Is there perhaps a specific parallel or theme between the mammals and Splinter in this story?

According to modern scientists; it was actually birds who ruled the world before mammals, because dinosaurs evolved into birds, and so therefore are apparently not reptiles

Fair enough. However, this series was written in the 80s and 90s and was based off the scientific knowledge of the time. So let's say that within the reality of the TMNT, dinosaurs were reptiles.

I am a big fan of this story line. But I have to admit that it's primarily because of the art.🤩The story is fine and could have been a bit more narrative for my taste. The ending in particular left me wondering a bit.🤔But maybe I just didn't think hard enough about the topic like you did.😅
