The instructions say to put it on a medium high heat. Did you keep the element on medium high for the whole hour and a half? Or, did you turn it down after a bit?

Definitely a Propeller plant. Not Aloe of any sort. How is it coming along? Mines done great for about 2 years and now there are brown spots on the leaves. But not too little water as the leaves are nice and plump! 🤷🏻♀️
