In your case, it seems that the game mistakenly locked your character into the 'jump' state due to a minor timing issue or input conflict, causing your character to remain in mid-air longer than intended. This behavior can trigger a 'state timeout' where the game expects a landing animation or reset but doesn't register it in time, leading to an automatic death after a few seconds. It's a rare issue but can sometimes happen when the game has to juggle multiple inputs or animations at once, like when you're near a ledge or interacting with terrain

From one dev to another, thanks for the detailed break down and analysis. It certainly seems like Wolf got stuck in his jump state and somehow was unable to evaluate. TBH I'm not sure if I pressed jump to try and break out of it- it looked more like I was surfing so I was enjoying it. Recently, I've been having some input problems with the X button on my Dual Sense, so one possibility is that as I jumped off the cliff the controller registered input as a quick double tap. As I transitioned into grapple state, then out of grapple state and back into jump state at the end of the leap, something else didn't get flipped back. Or maybe it was in Jump state somehow I didn't pull myself up into the area where Wolf pulls himself towards ground, and somehow the geometry got locked. And then like you said the game detected the character was stuck and chose to wipe, 死 end.

I love this game but if only you could have extra weapons to try Like not saying 308 weapons like elden ring but atleast a greatsword a spear and maybe a twinblade

Yep, it's possible to get the stealth deathblow by sneaking up to her from behind via the Gun Fort idol.

definitely missed a few mikiri counters in there esp at the start, but thankfully started to get them towards the end. was a little bummed i missed the lightning reversal in phase 3, i did a wacky dodge jump but at least got a couple follow-up hits in.

i personally didn't find it scary, rather just really an unstable structure with portions that collapse at any moment. i didn't make it past the second floor because the stairs had some holes in them already, and i didn't want to make them any bigger by falling through.
