Sunday morning, my son just left for Jeff Jordan's camp, and we are so excited for him to take his skills up another notch. He's 13 and has been training since the end of last season. Last season he missed the state podium by one point. In the lead the whole match, he gave up 2 points with a few seconds to go. My wife and i were proud of him. You could tell he was heartbroken, but he never made excuses, never shed a tear. We went back to the hotel that night after chearing on his teammates and he started training. We have a small group that weight trains together, and we all wrote our goals on the wall (its our home gym). Everyone wrote pr's they wanted to hit, or the number they wanted their trackwrestling record to be. Some had long lists of goals. He wrote 2 words. STATE CHAMP. I went last year and we had it for 25 minutes, he was right about finding that rhythm. It doesn’t get any easier though, you just stop thinking and hit those shots as hard as you can. The toughest part about the drill is the obble drill and getting up fast after getting taken down.

I like watching John's videos on wrestling with my 12 year old son. Great teacher of the sport,but hearing that he a fellow hunter make me like him even more.
