Even though it's clear that she is a very dynamic, powerful singer, I was sill shocked at the nuance of her singing in an un-plugged setting. And the miniature tidbits of vibrato that blur the line between ornamentation and rapturous bliss.

Such a sweet interaction and as someone who beliefs in rebirth it is just another proof that more peopls with old knowledge are coming back.

I'll always maintain this is one of the most eloquent songs ever composed... there's a ton of emotions packed into three and a half minutes, not to mention the composition/chord choices, the transition...the subtle timing trick in the last verse...so much to process and enjoy and relate to in this song. Compare to Something Fine-Jackson Browne or Both Sides Now-Joni Mitchell

It is sad to be parted from those that we love, Strange faces we see every day, Each heart string of mine is broken in time, When I think of those dear ones at home, Goodbye dear old stepstone, good bye to my home, god bless those I leave with a sigh, I'll cherish fond memories when I'm far away, to roam o'er this wide world alone & so I stood on my doorstep one evening in mourn, & the wind whispered by with a howl, The fields may be widening but I will be gone, To roam o'er this wide world alone, Goodbye dear old stepstone, goodbye to my home, god bless those I leave with a sigh, Oh! I'll cherish fond memories when I'm far away, to roam o'er this wide world alone, & so I stood at my school when my school time was over, & I wished for the time to go by, & now it has passed & I stand here tonight, To bid this old stepstone goodbye, Goodbye dear old stepstone, goodbye to my home, god bless those I leave with a sigh, OH! I'll cherish fond memories when I'm far away, to roam o'er this wide world alone. I love you 💜💙💚💛🧡❤ ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Took me back to a musical place, also a physical place I have never been. A mysterious sincere call voiced quietly, reminds that songs can come from an inner place, simply human.

When I was homeless, busking up and down the California coast, this was my go-to tune, especially on the Santa Cruz and Santa Monica boardwalks... simple chords and an easy rhytm, but very haunting vocals <3
