Go listen to the earlier stuff, pre Eternal Blue. This has that feel to it. The song Perennial would be a good place to start.

I love the new direction Spiritbox is heading into. Soft Spine won me over on not how perfectly executed the song performed, but it had some of Courtney's best vocal deliveries I've heard her sang in since Circle With Me which is still my favorite song by them. I really like the natural progression of the song since it reminds me a bit of their other song Blessed Be in terms of the progressive metal stylings and djent like arrangements, but this one feels very experimental driven as if it sounds like if Architects went back to their Holy Hell sound but with a modernized twist. I think this song is definitely a grower and hearing Josh Gilbert's clean singing added fresh new layers to their tone and structure, and it worked in my opinion.

"their worst album yet" I was expecting when i clicked on this video just for another person to shit on their album but you gave them all decent scores with the lowest just being a 5. personally, i dont like take me to the beach and thought Kid was better than all the OhOhOhOhOh in the take me to the beach chorus.
@metalsniperz318312 күн бұрын
@NateParody yeah it's kind of hard for me to hate any song I hear. I just genuinely enjoy listening to music in general, I just feel they didn't put much into this album at all, and it's just ok. And it sucks considering I've been listening since my early childhood, and I know they can write better music than most of this album. Especially their last album. I absolutely loved that album and still listen to it today.

New Subscriber here, Fit For An Autopsy are top ten favorite deathcore bands in the scene and they're definitely on their way to get way bigger and better as songwriters and the genre altogether. I love the Gojira influences they’ve started to incorporate in their song structures, melodies and the instrumentation on this record is extremely accessible and decent. This band is already making huge waves and definitely up there with Shadow Of Intent, Angelmaker, Mental Cruelty and others to make deathcore exhilarating.

If you listen to the album version, there's a talking line from Mike at the end "You got it, k, get your screaming pants on", and the next track is (apparently) the heaviest track on the album, Casualty - this is a gentler interlude leading up to it. Given the theme of this song, that makes a lot of sense.

Yup, I have a 10 in but doesn't make a big diff with metal since mine goes down to 27hz flat, but I'm a little confused about this mix. They turned up that 30hz frequency super high, but 40-50hz is absolutely dead? Compare this to ATLAE album from them and you get a ton of that heavy air feeling 30hz bass, but the actual punchy oomph is gone. Nonetheless you're right, there's a ton of that deeper bass.

As I Lay Dying just dropped a new single this morning featuring Alex Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail and Tommy Barber from Chelsea Grin. The As I Lay Dying’s single is called “9/12/2024.” it’s a little weird that it is a date. The song is but it is what it is. This song is so good that I have it on repeat constantly.

The mix to sounds like it could be great (as in it's already good, but it could be 11/10) but right now to me it's a mix of everything sounding too "nice", both in the vocal mix, and also that grittiness of the guitar that's missing, + the drums are a little quiet for my liking, combined with the decay being so short on everything it feels like. Compare it to aberrant waltz the new single from the same producer and you will see what I mean.
