Outstanding video. There appears to be a flaw in the narration. At 7:05 the narrator says " ..stored in tanks at 250psi ...Acetylene is dissolved in acetone which is a porous material made from pomice, balsawood or other material" This is NOT correct. Acetylene is dissolved in acetone which is a SOLVENT poured/placed in a lattice made of pomice balsawood or other sponge like material. The acetone absorbs a lot of acetylene and allows the acetylene to be stored at lower pressures. Acetone impregnates the spongy material and minimises the risk that acetylene decomposes in carbon and hydrogen which would cause an explosion

Tig comes close to gas welding or oxyacetylene welding. Tig is next best if no electricity in the job site. At all . What u going to use with no more electricity is available. That happenes in the field. Generator has exhausted all it's fuel. Only thing u got is oxyacetylene to do the weld .

No electricity to weld in the field what do u do ? With welding on all are electricity but gas or oxyacetylene welding is your last thing to do. What do u do without it. But you have only electricity to weld nothing more .

Sometimes the basic just works. I work in the maritime industry and seen so much "new wave" technology and techniques and they don't hold up up to the old school ways. It just works and it keeps skilled welders employed.
