When I first moved to Sussex it seemed like every day was a holiday. The climate is mild and the air is soft compared with other parts of England. There are lots of beautiful areas in the UK, but I have never wanted to live elsewhere. It is easy to move from towns to the countryside and the towns are mostly on a scale that makes them welcoming. Sussex was a separate Saxon Kingdom, it was never fully absorbed by the Normans and their feudal system. The people who live in Sussex still maintain an independence of thought and action which makes the County quite unique, intimately connected with the sea and romantic ideals. The decorations are beginning to appear in my town, so Happy Christmas to you.
