Only on the Mellotron could be played such a dark, ancient and mysterious melody...

The flute part in Nights was played by Ray Thomas. Mike followed with strings on the "Pindertron"! The mellotron company made him one custom.

There is something mysterious and magical about the Mellotron. I think it’s the greatest instrument ever created.

And to think that Mike Pinder had the sheer nerve to TOUR with a mk ii!

They are digital now. But you can still get an old M400. Tapes job made to order for about 5 grand.

Great play, although you are speeding too much and the tempo is off, here If that is OK, you could quadruple your likes. Great work though.

It is a magnificent instrument and it is fabulous song. I wonder, has the United Nations already proclaimed that the Mellotron is a world heritage? If they did not do this then it become time that this is done.

I was a fan of the Moody Blues after hearing their use of the mellotron. That was 55 years ago and still a fan.

The early Model Mark II and Mark IV were ground breaking technology when they first came out but it's time to retire them. The newer model Mellotron M4000D has a soft key touch sensitive action which eliminates the early version tape playback annoying key thumps you hear when they were played. I love mine.

easily the best-sounding Mark 2 I've heard in a long while. And using lead voices for the left-hand keyboard rather than those silly rhythm accompaniment tracks is so much more useful
