So the battery died after about 4 years . I found that its best use is for plastics.

Hi, this is one of the things I don't currently make. The machines were made by many companies and are all a little different. Right now I'm trying to make the round cutting blade because there are so few sources for them.

@tomcarbone1402 жыл бұрын
@@tariqhassan387 Hi, it only skives the underside. To do the modification you can add a bar under the bolt that holds the tension spring. All it's doing is pulling the lower roller down manually.

Hey , Tom how come you made the video...? No info on what you did or much else. Pretty dumb video. You did not even explain your retro fit. You didn't wanna educate a audience . Even Thompson made a request. But, you couldn't even take the time to explain. Sheesh.

Hello Tom! my name is Sidney I liked your video, and would like to know what type of rubber you used as a support under that shoe? Grateful for the attention!
@tomcarbone1403 жыл бұрын
Hi Sidney, I'm using a very common grey foam on the bottom and a black ensolite on top, adds up to about 2.75" I think any foam medium density will do, there is a little experimentation with any devise like this.

Thank you for taking my call.. In your opinion will the skiver on a 5 in one cutter skive like a real soft leather with out damaging it … Soft like say a 4 oz thick piece of cow leather without damaging the face side.. If so then I would be interested in seeing how you made that modification...
@tomcarbone1405 жыл бұрын
Really these machines were not designed for thin or soft leather. I'd say 7 oz minimum, they love veg tan, they are intended for heavy shoe work. Do your best to research and tryout different machines before you buy because they are all expensive. What you may need is the machine skiver mishoemakingcraft.blogspot.com/2017/06/cb801-cowboy-leather-skiver.html In the big picture it has improved my making output by ten fold! Good luck Tom
