Hey. Good job and satisfying but you have a slope down there. The root can hold the soil and keep the plateau from sliding downwards. Better to keep the roots or plant fast growing shrubs to keep soil erosions?❤❤❤

I have used wood chips to fill in muddy areas to keep them from be muddy, and as it breaks down, it creates soil. Not treated wood chips. If you call around a tree services and you're willing to take a full load of chip, some will deliver it for free.

I'd dig it out like 8-10" next summer, put in 3" drainage pipe to the culvert, cover back up. Where it's pooling put a catch basin at the surface. Keep cuttin' brother!

I was hoping just smoothing the grade would make it drain properly! You know… water gets low. - Sounds like a good idea Travis. I might need to do something like that!! I wish I knew where the water was coming from. No way the water table is that high.

Hi Phil. I’ve never heard that before. Yes, you can use hay when planting fescue grass seed to help retain moisture and protect against erosion, and it also helps to keep birds from eating the seeds. Hope that helps!!! Thx for watching and the comment!

It worked. It was just “very clumpy”. Fresh hey would have spread more evenly. I’ve never tried peat moss Travis. (I was just using what I had close by!)

I didn’t do that because I had taken a soil sample in to an ag shop earlier in the year, and the guy behind the counter said… “just plant your crop, anything will grow there” meaning the soil was great, so I figured I just needed to de-compact it.

Looks like it was a bit of a job.When I use to work for a landscaping company, they wanted us digging at least 6 inches deep with a big rototiller before replanting any yard. You might also have a problem with your soil. There is a fertilizer you can put on for new grass seed. That might help. Maybe the old hay will do it as well. Good luck with it! 👍

Yup. It was a much bigger job than the 10 minutes here. LOL. But the grass is coming in well now! That’s good to hear…. The 6” depth, I was probably randomly between 4 and 6 inches down. I know the soil is very good. Many people say the best quality in the area. Good idea on the supplements. I’ll look into it if this growth starts to fade!! @@OldIronAcres I was on 40 hrs with no sleep. Sharpened up my brand new G3 Gators and unknowingly somehow put the fugging blades on upside down…. Yes , the 3 bent mulching fingers facing down😂😂. Messed up part? It did an amazing job. Lower cut then my normal setting (about 1”🤔). Everything was going great until I decided to back into a little nook then … WOOOFAWAAAFAWOOOFAWAAFFA!! Thought I suck up something burried in the earth. Etal rag, rope etc. NOPE bent the blade about 2-1/2” only on one end. I remove the blade and I’m looking at the blade and I don’t see any damage on it still razor sharp and I said to myself how can it still be so sharp when I flipped it over I noticed that the three little fingers were shiny on the backside and I looked under the mower and sure enough the other blade was on upside down to what an idiot I couldn’t believe how good it cut the grass Anyway, I ordered another set so I have a spare now for next time. So dumb. 🤦🏻♂️

@@winnguyen443 they really surprisingly sip battery life, and are fantastic up to about finger size sticks. I still love it. It would be great for trail maintenance, other than I ran it for 3 hours this weekend and my arms are hurting from the workout! LOL (they aren’t too heavy, but over hours - they do have weight!!). I hope you get one and enjoy it!!!

I've mixed hundreds of bags of quick set in my day with the same tray and a hoe. Vertical is called plumb fyi. Did a fantastic job setting that post buddy. Next time use a shovel to transfer mix to hole. Braces are great! Keep cuttin' sir!!!

Hey Mark, yup. My FEL is a h240 on a John Deere. Looks like you found all the specs on it. I’m in love with the tree puller on it. It easily pulling 2x/3x the size trees/bushes I thought it would do!!! If you have a FEL, this is a tool that is super impressive if you have light bushes, invasive saplings, young trees to pull!!
