Beutiful bells such a pity they are hung for ringing . That tenor is classic pre war Taylors

These are quite nice actually. Though I think I’d visit more for the church itself from an architectural perspective, rather than the bells!

I remember being in a car crash right outside this tower last year! 😂 Didnt think it would have a ten in it though!

since this was made the gaudy "creche" type decoration at st andrew the great has been painted over!, when I last rang there back in 2016 the place was being used as study room and before we even got the bells up we had to clear the tower of junk!.

Hi there I'm the steepel keeper for the church that I ring at .it looks like the mount for the clapper has rotated slightly. Unfortunately I can't get a decent Vue of the crown of the bell. It should be a matter of unscrewing the bolt replacing the leather washer inside the bell and resequering the clapper in line with rotation .our bells are fixed to the axle with 4 bolts and the clapper has it's own bolt. Hope that this is helpful.

How are they unringable because there ull circle
@tittums18 күн бұрын
The bells were rehung and retuned in 2021 by Blyth & Co so they are now fully ringable. This video was recorded in 2019 to ring the old bells, that had been unringable for over 50 years, for the final time so that the parish could have heard the old bells ringing before the work was undertaken. This followed weeks of work and patching of the ancient fittings to ensure the bells could be safely rung for 20 minutes or so.

@tittums so they are ringable I say yes so you should change the title and also its a bit funny that the 3rd is under a 🪜
@tittums16 күн бұрын
@@Owentheringer2024_yt They were not officially ringable. Although it was physically possible to ring them, continued and regular ringing on the bells in the state they were in this video would not have been safe.

I'd certainly not call them very pleasant! The 7th is a nightmare, and you can't ring there in the summer as the clappers seize up! Of course, they may have improved since 2008....
@tittumsАй бұрын
I don't believe there has been any work on them since 2008, so it is likely the clappers will still seize up. Saying that, this was recorded in summer and they all worked, although they were viciously odd-struck so maybe that could have been attributed to the heat. If they are the same bushes as I think they are, they will be similar to that of Honingham, which have had to be corrected in recent months as we went to ring them last year and only 3 of the 6 clappers worked, and 1 was about 4 seconds too slow at back. I try and be kind about every tower I visit, and paint them all in a good light. They certainly aren't bad, for Norfolk!

I’ve rung there once. It was for the kings coronation last year. I still remember all the lady bugs that were up there. Someone who I ring with is actually starting a new band there 🔔

What a lovely ring. I have to admit, the ceiling is very low. I ring at st Katharine’s church Holt and the ceiling is perfect height there.😊
