Thank you! Since only 1/2 of the piece broke off, I was able to fix mine in place without removing the locking assembly. All I needed were a screw, a washer, and a steady hand to drill a pilot hole into the remaining (1/2) plastic piece. In other words, a good plastic piece looked something like this |===|. This was my remaining broken piece |== . So I attached a washer and a screw ------|+. My final working piece looked like this |==---|+

Thanks for your info. Question. Did you put a spacer of some kind under the screw with the washer? Or did you just drill out the plastic rod just enough to create the space where rod would slide on the outside track and not fall out?

Thanks david They a bunch of viedos on how to remove the lock. Its pretty easy 3 10mm bolts on inside of lock. You can find everything you need at lowes thats where i got mine (hardware ). If you need me to send you some viedos add me on fb Johnny wayne Kentucky

Johnny I just gotta tell you that is an amazing fix!! If I can fin the spacers, I can find the washers and screws! I just have to figure out how to remove that lock mechanism now. Brilliant piece of good old home engineering!!! Thanks Sir!
