It's funny how a parody of a children's show turned into a real children's show.

My son introduced me to Flogging Molly when he heard them in America. I never heard this until he died at the obscenely young age of 33. This song is painful and joyful and so meaningful to me. Thank you guys.

I discovered this song the beginning of this year (2023). I lost my little 7 year old dog last November unexpectedly. This song reminds me so much of him and has helped me through the grief of losing him. It touches me in a profound way.

We chose this song for the funeral of our stillborn son in April 2020... because of the very special part "wherever I am, you'll always be, more than just a memory"...

I have told my sons this is to be played at my memorial/funeral. I lost my husband in august this year and we played this at his memorial while on his one last fishing trip. It was beautiful.

If I ever leave this world alive I'll thank you for the things you did in my life If I ever leave this world alive I'll come back down and sit beside your feet tonight Wherever I am, you'll always be More than just a memory If I ever leave this world alive If I ever leave this world alive I'll take on all the sadness that I left behind If I ever leave this world alive The madness that you feel will soon subside So, in a word, don't shed a tear I'll be here when it all gets weird If I ever leave this world alive So when in doubt, just call my name Just before you go insane If I ever leave this world Hey, I may never leave this world But if I ever leave this world alive She says, "I'm okay, I'm alright Though you have gone from my life You said that it would Now everything should be alright" She says, "I'm okay, I'm alright Though you have gone from my life You said that it would Now everything should be alright" Yeah, should be alright

This song got me through my best friends death in 2002. I think I listened to it a million times after he died. I've seen Flogging Molly multiple times live and the last time I saw them in 2019, they played it live. I cried and sang my pain away. It was like I was finally able to let go of my grief
