Hey bud I have a holiday rambler where is the fresh water drain I can’t for the love of me find it
@bakermakesitАй бұрын
I’ve ripped out all the original plumbing at this point but I’m pretty sure it was in a sliding access panel on the belly pan. There may have been more than one if I’m remembering right

Are you saying that the right side of the camper has left hand threads ? ? That is probably why my buddy could not get the wheels off that side but my storage trailer the threads are all right hand threads .
@bakermakesitАй бұрын
That’s correct! It’s super weird and not a thing anymore. Mine are actually stamped with “L” or “R” for which direction the threads are

I just got 2 Holiday ramblers and neither one of mine have a AC unit in them ! And Iam getting ready to do the same thing to mine I don’t know who designed this one that I stay in but they took all the space in here !!! I will put the hole kitchen and bathroom to the right of the entrance door I already figure the best way to put all of it and then I’ll have 19 feet to make a dining room and a10 foot bedroom i the back because I can’t live in a 6foot bedroom !!!! I can’t even get my stereo in there and move around !! My name is Ed and I have basically the same issues that you’re except I had to get 2of them because of all the stuff that I own!! But I’ve been working on cars and houses for 49 years and remodeling houses for 42 years now and there’s nothing that I can’t do to eather one !!!! Maybe send me a text and maybe we can help each other out ??? Iam in Maryland … good luck with your project !!!!!
@bakermakesitАй бұрын
I’ve heard that on some, there is a 120V wire in one of the roof vents so you can swap it for an AC, but I don’t know how common that is. I’m in the Holiday Ramblers Group on Facebook - feel free to message me there! Good luck with your projects 🙂

Just a tid bit of useless info... you may want to caulk anything that you attach to the outside of the camper, in my experience I always ended up with leaks at the screw holes 🤔

Nice job on the oil change. I did see a major mistake you made though. The oil filter housing is full of oil, until you open it. This takes the pressure off the filter and releases the oil to flow down into the oil pan. If you replaced the drain plug before you loosened the filter, all of the old oil in that housing is still in your motor. Next time, drain your pan. After it stops draining, and without replacing the plug, open the oil filter cap and look at how much more oil drains out of the pan. If you will oil all the o-rings on the filter and attach it to the cap, it will reinstall much easier also. I would also start the truck and fill the oil filter housing back up before checking the level. Both of mine have always taken 6 qts even, and never any in between changes.

Good tips! I do oil the o-rings but forgot to mention it in this video 🙂

Back in the mid 80's I bought a mint 1971 32' Holiday Rambler from the original owner. Beautiful in brand new shape! Dual entry doors w/a small queen in back bedroom. Was in my 20's, single and I used it as a Summer Seasonal mid 80's thru mid 90's at York Beach, Maine. Had a lot of fun and great memories w/my Holiday Rambler. Great, great time!

@bakermakesit5 ай бұрын
Yeah I didn’t have any luck with those since mine had multiple layers. Only thing that worked for me was aircraft stripper, and lots of it. Probably used 4 gallons all said and done. Also get yourself a plastic scraper with replaceable plastic blades!

I bought 2 gallons of base coat, which turns into 3 gallons once it’s mixed. I used about 2/3 of that but if I had sprayed a third coat (which I should have) it would have been the perfect amount

I can't wait to pick your brain after you're done, lol. I'm closing in on painting and have been looking at different paints. So far I'm thinking automotive paint for sure. Either PPG, Tcp, Eastwood or Summit Racing. That red came out nice, too bad you weren't closer, I'd have come down and bought the leftover red from you, haha! Or brought down the few pieces I need shot red, ha
@bakermakesit7 ай бұрын
Yes sir, happy to walk you through my process. I use a lot of TCP global stuff at work and really like it. The Eastwood paint took 6 coats to cover the black seam sealer vs. 4 of the TCP for what it’s worth. The biggest thing I’m glad I did was the seam sealer on all trims and overlaps. It’s rock solid and I have a lot of faith that it’s going to last longer than the paint will. Just shoot me a message on FB when you’re at that part of your project 😀
