Update June 2024: I sold the Synology NAS because that thing was SOOOOOO freaking slow, not due to the ssd, but just the device itself. I removed the SSD and the SSD is still fine. 🙂

Snowwie, you can make the on ramps with the complex curve tool in the road building options. It is actually very useful. Do the set up the same, then click the complex curve, click on the lane you want to start from, click straight ahead about halfway to the end, then move 90 degrees to a spot in line with the ending point, then click on the lane you want to connect with. It will create a smooth curve like the old connection tool. Once you try it, it makes more sense.

Is there app to automate the process of setting the affinity to customly-wanted amounts of threads? Because as @jason (sort by newest) comment has said I quote him: "setting the "Affinity" changes back to ALL CORES when the next file in the queue starts up. Just FYI..." That's exactly what happens, on each new file there is a new 'Handbrake Worker' process being activated working at FULL threads. If u miss it and then laptop starts full fans noise and it's too late until you modify it, so annoying; Wish it was automated.

I still use the same wallpaper on my desktop, even 10 years later. 🙂

I've been playing Cities Skylines for some time, and I was having these problems with massive traffic jams with trains, and for solving this issue I created a similar intersection with rails, only to find this videos 1 week later. I wished there were more videos like this with tips for trains.

The speed problem with those HDDs is that they are SMR, if they were CMR you would get good consistent speed of ~400MBps.

You could maybe try a newer WHDLoad slave of the game, looks like this is the 1.0 version but there's since been 1.1-1.3 updates, and then a bigger 2.0 update in 2018. Also see if a newer WHDLoad client will help (v18.2 that you have came out in 2015 and the latest (v18.9) came out last year)

Snowwie, if you place 2x2 blocks and alternate the European, north American, and the 2 beach property ones that will force every building to be that size. This is especially useful for instance if you have 5 blocks between the streets, place euro on one street 2 deep and na 3 deep on the next one they cannot combine. If you want to go further, build streets normal size, but zone each lot to 2x2 2x3 etc but alternate the type of low density it will give you affordable small homes with a nice green space. This approach works beautifully for downtown also. Build grid a little bigger, then zone each higher density individually office, com'l, row homes na and euro, and even various mixed use zones. It lets you control the height because the smaller lot size will stay lower. 😁I really enjoy your style and the rhythm of the action.

interesting, but i don't see how this is better than a normal roundbout. traffic leaving/entering the motorway have to travel a longer distance on average compared to a normal roundabout. it also requires construction of two additional bridges with additional maintenance costs. finally, merging/leaving on the inside of the roundbout is probably also confusing for drivers. anyways, i dont want to discourage you from thinking of new types of junctions, but just some things to consider

It is important to keep in mind that if we do not give enough options, cars WILL break rules to get to places. In 17:00 these cars are probably doing that. They're "forced" to stay in the highway, but they need to go right, so the just go right, regardless of the lane connectors. There is another mod for traffic management that allows us to fiddle with how aggressive that behavior is. Maybe using both mods in conjunction could be the way to experiment with that.
