Sure you will argue that he will highlight social issues and the inequality while WhItEy is on the moon. I will argue that this ear cancer of poetry is one of the laziest, saltiest and sad performances I ever heared. To reduce the society into two unequal racial groups is just pitiful on so many levels. I have no problem with songs like this one. Free speech brother. But how come then songs that take a jab at coloured volks are banned here, like the (honestly horrible, some even more like this one) songs by Johny Rebel? I would not prefer, but understand that youtube also banned this song, together with Rebel's songs, but there appears to be a double standart here. It’s pretty simple. Those songs are borne of hatred and prejudice. This song is borne of a very real, very understandable frustration with the relationship between ones socioeconomic status, the historical reasons their status is the way it is, and the apathy and blind eye turned by the people who were instrumental in creating said socioeconomic status

And i can laugh over both. Again, i support Gil Scott, to say what he wants to, as is his natural right, protected by our constitution. But the rules are not applied equally here by YT, obviously. Which is wrong. Either prohibit both, or allow both.

This poem does such a good job of making me feel something that's so hard to put into words. The contrast is actually incredible, and it makes me realize that Gil and "whitey" are both so wrong. In one instance you've got Gil, a person who is from a larger group of people that could never fathom, let alone achieve something as great as going to the moon, but it doesn't matter. He's right in the sense that colonialism, both White and Arab, "civilized" a place that was actually biologically perfect. There was, and still is no need to invest trillions in space and arms races. It's so futile and wasteful. On the other hand, going to the moon wasn't something brilliant, or amazing. It was hubris. It was done for an image, and billions were left down below to suffer in this nightmare so that we could one-up the Soviets. Gil just seems so small, unimportant, and petty as he complains about something his mind can't even begin to conceive, yet he accurately portrays just how stupid and pointless "whitey's" grandiose endeavors are. Both Gil and "whitey" are absolutely tragic creatures in an unending war over absolutely nothing. Both are worthless. It's sad.
