How come this aircraft is superior in 2021?

My biggest argument towards the supposed superiority of the F35 has been around the idea of it being a "Swiss Army Aircraft." Multi-Role is fine to a point but there are distinct situations where a aircraft is not suited towards certain rolls. Ground Attack has proved to be one area best suited towards specialist aircraft designed to survive the conditions and perform its intended role. For heavy ground pounding the A-10 and AC-130 gunships are perfect for the roles of In fast and hit hard and Hang Around and Churn the Ground. The OV-10 Bronco was super versatile and filled in the role of light arms air support that a helicopter would provide with the difference they were much faster than helicopters. The F35 was supposed to fill these roles but cannot for dozens of reasons. It also is overly complicated and being a maintenance hog is no good. It is essentially a hopped up Buick with extra fancy gizmos going against tanks with attitudes. It cannot keep up in close in fighting where the F-4 phantom jets found themselves when they were missile only aircraft. Lastly, still cannot hide that Infrared Emissions still.

Certainly F-35's advantage is its BVR capacity. Yet that will work only against 3rd rate militaries. Against Russian military it is useless since, just like US, Russia too has a BMS (Battlefield-Management-System) integrating all information acquired optically or electromagnetically from ground units, tanks, anti-air defenses, ground radars, ship radars, reconaissance and jet fighters and bombers, and so many more and of course - and above all - GPS and Optical satellites! For the F-35 may hide for some distance/time from traditional EM radar systems but it cannot hide from optical satellites scanning every inch of the planet's sky to detect moving ground and flying military (or other... dunno... UFOs, LOL!) objects! What good will the BVR do for F-35 if facing the Russians when it will be visible to Russia's BMS system and the information will be dispatched in the nearby units in seconds with the Russian jets firing long-range missiles even if their radar systems do not see yet the F-35 - with these long-range missiles taking co-ordinates directly from the BMS system!

No conclusion they made is going to be reliable compared to any simulation conducted by the US military and Lockheed Martin. If you are so naive to believe that the US DOD wen through with the original JSF procurement and development without thoroughly analyzing the design of the aircraft to make sure it meets all parameters, you need to stop listening to all of this negative press. Statements about inferior climb, speed, or maneuverability have been proven blatantly incorrect. Test pilots praise the aircraft for its next generation capabilities with regards to outright performance. Thats not even including the advanced networking capabilities and avionics that the F-35 brings to the table. This plane isn't inferior, it is the most capable fighter aircraft in the world.

RAND has said that this is NOT what they tested. RAND did not do any fighter v fighter tests in the Pacific Vision exercise. There was a test done by 2 RAND analysts with information supplied by those idiots at Air Power Australia and 2 members of APA's own simulator company called REPSIM. F35 is a pure American plane. T'was built to shoot down enemy before enemy can see you. Stealth aircrafts require different strategies from f15s. Th F35s nevervboasted of dogfighting. They rely on stealth and high precision weapons in air superiority warfare.

Does anyone actually do fucking research. The f-35 is a great plane. Sure it can’t turn like a raptor or a viper but it was meant to attack from bvr ranges. For example at red flag the f-35 had a 20:1 kill ratio and most were beyond visible range and by the time the opposing force knew they were being targeted it was too late! So yes the f-35 is and awesome new plane built for stealth and multi role capabilities. So Next time any of you that read this check your facts before believing everything in a bullshit video.

The basic issue is that China made hyper-sonic 400Km air-to-air. They say they can shoot it form attack helicopter. And it has anti-stealth radar. China claim they can easily see F-22 and F-35. So, basically, no fighter jet can get close to China. China said their attack helicopter is good enough to counter F-35. What's the humiliation!

I live in Aus and wtf dose Lateline know about f-35's or a doctor from the labor party. The f-35 would certainly lose against a Su-35 in "visual range" but that's not the point of the f-35 its analysts of its situation because the plane is literally 20 computers means that it dose not have to become in visual range of a Su-35 to fight it. But to be fair with stealth included it would still be a pretty even fight between a f-35 and a Su-35. STOP THE HATE!

This video was put out in 2008 so I just have to ask... How do you now feel to find out that it gets 20/1 kill ratio in testing and blowing all expectations out of the water??? If I were to have to got to war in the air and had the choice I would choose F35 or F22 all day.
