Local muscle contractions elicited by activation of motor fibers, or other reflex mechanisms, lead to vasodilation of blood vessels near or within the TrP. B: The increased microcirculation, and the prolonged depolarization of axon terminals combined with the production of LTRs elicited by IMES leads to depletion of acetylcholine (ACh) levels and reduction of EPN at the TrP.

Do you have to do 15 minutes of TE in order to bill for it? For example, I have a 30 minute appointment. I do TE for 10 minutes, and ME for 20 minutes. Can I bill 1 TE and 1 MT or do I need to do 15 minutes of TE and then 8-10 minutes of MT?
@LorettaSandoval
@LorettaSandoval 2 ай бұрын
It has to be between 8-22 minutes. So you should charge one unit for each.

@@LorettaSandoval Thank you for responding. I think the reason for my confusion is that the clinic I work at requires us to do 15 minutes of exercise before billing 1 TE then we follow the 8 minute rule after that. The only reason I can think they do that is because some payers will deny if TE is less than 15 minutes. Or they have a misunderstanding.

I use the same textbook (Gould's Pathophysiology, 7th ed.) to teach a health technologies pathophys. class in North Carolina. My students and I appreciate these lectures very much! You do not use it in this lecture, but in case you had not noticed it, you should make your students aware of a rather big error in fig. 16.11 (6th/7th ed. print, also 7th ed. e-book). That has a human figure comparing the effects of hypoparathyroidism (on left) and hyperparathyroidism (on right). However the figure is mislabeled, with both sets of effects labeled *hypo*-parathyroidism. The effects are not scrambled, it is just a mislabeled figure. Again, thanks for publishing these lectures.

How would you then grade a muscle which cant move fully in gravity eliminated? A 2 or a 1?
@LorettaSandoval
@LorettaSandoval Жыл бұрын
Full range of motion in gravity eliminated is a 2/5. 1/5 is just trace motion, the muscle twitches but doesn't produce appreciable movement of the joint.
