I used the 5" and 2 1/2" squares to do the same thing to make a baby quilt. Instead of quilting, I used my embroidery machine and sewed a heart in the middle of each square.

Great idea! Is it better to sew the label on the quilt back before or after the quilt has been finished?

That borde is not straight going across the middle and you just cut it why not make sure it’s straight across so your ends are straight

Do you ever use a heat shield batting in this project?
@6quilter412 күн бұрын
I have used Insul-bright, but in this sample used scrap batting that was 80/20 - so mostly cotton since I had that on hand. Thanks for watching - Merry Christmas!

I’ve been sewing for 40 years but no very little about quilting. In the video where you showed the panel that you did for your sons ringbearer, was all of that done on a machine? Like all of the McTavishing? There was so much detail involved. I can’t imagine doing all of that on a machine. I really hope you see my message cause I’m just enjoying your videos so much.

I use masking tape and draw lines with different pen colours, so I have a few lines 1/4" apart for quilting, then put it on.

What rulers needed? I haven’t started quilting . Brand new. Watching so many tutorials. I think my fear is not being able to sew a 1/4 or any measurements for straight line. I haven’t figured out how to do this yet. My ruler slips or when I’m sewing I’m not staying straight. But oh how I needed this video. I’m taking notes. Thank you for the time you put out this information for all of us who needs to see and hear this video.
