Is that dubbing really hare’s ear? It’s a very light shade.

It is Hare’s ear dubbing, I have about 30 different shades off this dubbing.

@@Flycraft955 I’m not trying to catch you out, it’s just that I see these little packets being hawked about the place labelled “ hare’s ear dubbing “, which are clearly nothing of the sort. Hare’s ear dubbing is VERY short in the fibre, and really pretty dark in shade. I think it started in the US, where they started making “hare’s ear” nymphs with body hair. So “hare’s ear” is like “chocolate flavour” ( no actual chocolate). Kind of muddies the water.

Callum you won’t catch me out, it’s hare’s ear dubbing that can be dyed multiple colours, check out HARES EAR DUBBING BY HENDS and you will see for yourself.

Nice fly. It seems to be quite the fashion to crowd the eye these days. Everyone's doing it. I'm going to stick to leaving myself a bit of space, in my old age I would find it a bit tiresome to thread on the line.
