Every PvP video in this game is magic, is that all there is? or is melee just a complete joke I'd much prefer to do melee in MMOs

To be quite honest with you, the melee dps right now is the Fighter archetype, and it's pretty rare to see them, one is because PvE seems to be much harder for them, and I am not so sure about their viability in PvP as I've never fought one before. I think another problem is that TTK in this game is too low right now which gives range bursts like Archer/Mages alot more advantages over melee classes. But again, this is still very early alpha, so expect lots of balance changes in the future.

It feels great playing! I am honestly missing the test so much already. I havent played a tab target combat MMO for a long time, so it's a little bit difficult to say, but it does feel a little bit like throne and liberty but with less tab targeting stuff since you have abilities that require proper positioning which T&L did not really have when I played it. I also absolutely love how the mage abilities can actually combo of each other, but can't recall at the top of my head what other mmorpgs have similar systems. ( I know Ethyrial:Echoes of Yore had it, but that's a really small indie mmorpg that didnt do so well at launch back then )

Ashes of creation is basically a hybrid between a themepark and sandbox mmorpg with zero planned pay to win stuff. Their major selling point is basically their node system, it's pretty complex and hard to explain over a comment, but you can search up ashes of creation wiki, they explain alot of stuff about the game if you're curious about it.

Sleep -> Lightning strike -> Ice bolt ( put a point in the other ice bolt ability which does more damage on shocked target ) -> Then fire bolts -> Combustion

You missed every single spell, only hit them in melee range, magic missiles with no +add/+true weren't headshot and you still killed the highest hp/mdr class in the game. You should have been dead. What are you complaining about?

he hit around 14 magic missiles and 2 ice bolts. thats 9x14 + 2x30 = 186 unmodified base damage
