It’s Hamsterley forest, I’ve been running round there for about 15 years now, it’s very varied, I never get bored of it.

Looks like a fun area for off-road running.

It is, I’ve done 3hr runs and never run on the same path twice. Everything from forest paths, single track trails to open fell.

A few people have mentioned your channel to me Ian. Looks great. 😎👍🏻👏👏👏 Particularly enjoyed this one about the Chevy.

Cheers, I’m glad you like it. I’ve done a few race videos, but tend to make them on races that I’m watching rather than during my race. I keep the 2 separate. It’s like 2 different hobbies. If I take my camera it’s to make a video, but it’s also a good way of making me take it easy.

The music is pretty good on this one, fits nice. It’s called geordie and is by Ben Catley. His Dad Allan was a great runner in the 80’s. Someone I looked up to.

Great video - well shot! As a masters runner training for another marathon, I find inspiration in videos like this! As a fellow KZbinr I know how much goes into these videos! Keep posting - I just subscribed!

at 5.19, spot the runner apparently chopping 5k off the race distance buy skipping the out & back section haha.

Iain, that looks like a respectable pace. Fancy hooking up? I run this place most days and know it back to front. I'd be happy for the company.
@iaintwaddle2365 жыл бұрын
james palmer I would say yes but I live the other side of Durham now, so don’t get there these days.
@jamespalmer26895 жыл бұрын
I run through it most days starting at the lodge. I go at 5.15am atm because it's light and the air is amazing, or sometimes on an evening or weekend.
@iaintwaddle2365 жыл бұрын
james palmer I’ve moved now, so don’t get down there any more but also run in the early morning, 5.30 this morning. Love it.

Thanks for the advice on the salomon vest today and yesterday Iain - hopefully she bought it.... . You've got me running in on here about 10.45. Made me look canny fast!

Really like this one, think it is my favourite. Music choice pairs well.
Another great vid Iain. Couple of things. Did you circumnavigate Great gable around upto Windy Gap onto Green Gable. I know the rocky area down from Windy Gap is tricky. Also re your kit what is your footwear and hooded jacket. Cheers Mark
@iaintwaddle2367 жыл бұрын
wildcamp tom , hi Tom, thanks for your comments, my route was Seathwaite, Styhead tarn, Styhead, climbers traverse, summit of Great Gable, Windy gap, Green gable then Sourmilk gill back. As for kit, I was wearing inov8 X-talon 212 and OMM Kamleika smock, best waterproof running jacket I've ever had.

Super video - you must burn a few calories setting everything up! Massively coincidence but I was up there doing Leg 2 (ACW) of the BGR but started a bit earlier otherwise might have bumped into you. Mind you when I came back the other way Great Gable in the clag at night was not as runnable as you made it look. Excellent work!

Scott Watson shame I missed you. It was really bad underfoot, the rock was really slippy, I was a bit nervous at times, but still a good run out. How's the training going?
@scottwatson90648 жыл бұрын
It's going great thanks Iain - never enjoyed my running as much. You're right about the wet rock though, it was wasn't easy to run over. Take care and keep up the good work.

OMM | Original Mountain Marathon, no problem, we all had a great time. A great experience for us guys. On a personal level, I got on the course and visited the overnight camp. I spotted some of our regular customers and people that I'd served in the marquee the night before, it was great to see them and give them some encouragement.
