Hey, I left my sun roof open 😢. I know, I’m a moron! The interior got a lot of water damage. The car is running fine. The only issue is my power seat and heated seats now don’t work-for both driver and passenger. I checked the fuses, and not the issue. Any suggestions?
@benwrenchin5 күн бұрын
It's the wiring under the seat. Check another comment on here, the guy was saying water damage causes this issue. It's not my car or I would check that, but I imagine if you find that wiring harness you will probably discover that both power seat and heated seat wire connectors end up there. Let me know if you do look into it!

I almost used my manual oil hand pump, but the tubes are so long, it gets messy when you're done. I thought the oil would be too thick to do it this way, so I was surprised when it actually worked really well.

this is a great tip, i don’t want to take away from that fact. however, the next level would be to buy and install a valve that replaces your drain plug such as the one from Fumoto. they’re make and model specific and match the thread pitch of your existing drain plug exactly. as long as they’re installed properly they won’t leak. these are pretty standard on commercial shipping trucks. hope i could help someone out!
@benwrenchin12 күн бұрын
I've considered these, however I opted against them for two reasons. 1. I am down there once every three months if that, but you still have to get down there to open the valve. Why not have something less prone to failure that's a little more difficult to open? 2. It is entirely possible to drain all your oil out because something hits the valve. I know it's a long shot, but I leave off the covers underneath all my cars, which increases that likelihood, however unlikely it may be. Not worth it to me.

Good video! I recently pulled my engine out of my 96 K2500 to replace the head gaskets. While I had it out I replaced every gasket and seal I could except for the two rubberized washers that hold the oil filter adapter. I still have a slight leak form one of the bolts. Did the seal kit you used have those seals in it?
@benwrenchin18 күн бұрын
I didn't see seals on those bolts, the kit came with a lot of extra stuff, I assume most of it is for various applications and configurations. It's possible some of them in the kit are for this, but if they are then I missed it because mine didn't have them in the first place. Guess I'll find out if they are leaking!
