@dstone2011Ай бұрын
@@SnowboardPowder hey mate! black diamond and double black diamond trails would be better on the SAM2 in my opinion. The JAM2 is great in the rough but a bit more of a do it all machine with a bit less travel. The SAM2 at speed is a stable and unreal machine to ride.
@SnowboardPowderАй бұрын
@@dstone2011 yeah watched some of your vids it looks awesome. Jam2 does look very capable but thinking of coil shock and suspension when needed is a plus for sam2. If you were only riding technical blue and blacks that were rocky and rooty with a lot of up and down which out of jam/sam would you go?
@dstone2011Ай бұрын
@@SnowboardPowder it’s a tough decision as the jam2 is a capable machine also. It’s a bit more nimble and poppy on the trail than the sam2 and also a little lighter. The Sam2 is faster on everything but pedally trails and flow trails. The extra travel and coil on the sam2 definitely lets you open it up more and the rear end tracks better than the jam2. If you want to go fast go for the sam2, if you want to play on the bike more go the jam2.

@dstone20113 ай бұрын
@@fernandom6811 thanks! You do notice the weight of the bike pedalling once the 25kmph cuts off, this is mainly on undulating flatter terrain or slight uphills. This has been the same with every e bike I’ve ridden though, Bosch race motor seems to be better over 25kmph than any other e bike motor I’ve tried though. Might be something special in the race motor. The bike jumps, corners and eats up the rough stuff amazingly. Once you’re up to speed I personally don’t notice the weight, if anything the weight provides a more stable ride and gives you insane amount of grip. @dstone20117 ай бұрын
The wheels have held up quite well. Conti Downhill casing front and rear and no inserts. I’ve dented the rear rim but was entirely my fault on a super rough trail and poor line choice. The dhx is a good shock. A dhx2 would definitely be better. I’ve over sprung mine to around 26% sag. It’s helped the bike carry speed. I’ve not felt the need for a high speed compression or rebound control on it. I have upgraded the shock to have a LSC dial on it. Has helped it not wallow in the back end.

Great looking bike. I have a 2022 model. I changed the headset to a normal one without internal cable routing to make it easier to change head stem bearings. I notice there is no option with the new frame to run external cables, no holes and grommets in the frame. Was not a fan of the internal cable routing. Looks good, but not practical. What is the rear shock?
@dstone20119 ай бұрын
Rides as good as it looks too. I love the neatness of the headset routing but It will make changing the top bearing harder at some point. Luckily they see less dirt and mud than the bottom bearing. Benefit of the headset routing is how easy it is to get outer gear cables and brake hoses through on a new build. Head tube holes are massive compared to grommets. Took me no time at all to build one of my bikes up from a frame. Shock was a fox dps. Worked well.
