THE FCC tried to ban this song from FM airplay in 1970 due to its very graphic , macabre , and very descriptive account of a man initially surviving a plane crash , but ends up dying on the way to the hospital . Believe it or not this song was very popular on FM radio back in the early 1970's ! I had their first five albums ( four studio albums and one "live" album ) . I never heard this song on AM radio , but I heard it a lot on FM radio ! It would freak me out if I heard this song at around 2:A,M, ,
