A model like Strava or Facebook, where data is kept more private, and users have more control over who sees what sounds good. Can't resist change all the time, positive change is good. Not having gender stats removes barriers to participation, for someone who doesn't identify as either male or female. However, all parkrun statistics should be optional- if you want to view Age Graded or Course records and so on, u should be able select yes at sign up, or no if you don't.

Opt in for the stats, nice idea!

I'm used to running in a somewhat lower stack, more flexible shoe. I saw these and am thinking 🧐 about getting them. I did try some Saucony (can't remember name) carbon shoes a couple years ago. I wasn't too keen as they felt somewhat stiff underfoot. Any feedback about this? Cheers
@derekrunsagain4 ай бұрын
These ones are definitely stiff but carbon shoes need a balance between stiffness and cushioning to get a good energy return, all cushioning would just absorb too much energy. That said the more expensive shoes do tend to achieve a better balance. I use the scott speed a lot for training, as they do save the legs, but would never wear them for a PB attempt.
