informative especially living *legally* on a floating structure where you sleep in Ontario. Still don't know the yearly total divided by 12 months though. I see persons living 'illegally' in campsites in Vancouver area, so presumably a solution to the housing crisis of living on a raft-like structure could be both an economic, social and political issue. I mean if a man can't live on his own boat where can he live virtually for free from interference by the State? International waters? In Cambodia on both the Tonle Sap (lake) and Mekong and Bassac Rivers, ethnic Vietnamese have been living without state-sanction for decades. Only now are they being evicted. More useful for me would be practicalities of toilet, washing, cooking and water supply when sleeping on the water in Canada. I presume it varies from province to province.

My husband and I would like to get a houseboat ( we need to buy a home of some sort in approx one month from now, getting a houseboat would be a dream come true for me ) but neither he nor I know even the first thing about boats, so I'm not so sure if it would be very wise.. of course, jumping right in and buying one would be the best way to learn about it, would it not? Ohhhh I want one so bad!! Here's a question that may be stupid, but... Like I said, I know nothing about boats, so.. The toilet ( plumbing in general ).. is the toilet like a toilet in an RV? Do you need to empty it every so often? Bc living on the water, you obviously don't have pipes beneath your home leading to a sewer system... 🤷

At our marina, electricity is not included in slip fee but water and internet connection is included. We do not pay a parking fee nor do we have to pull our boat out in the winter. We have a stack washer and dryer on board so we obviously do not pay coin op laundry.

Not paying attention to expenses and just handing your money over to your spouse is a bad idea. Could come back to bite you
@SundayMourningLove2 жыл бұрын
It's only a bad idea if your partner isn't trust worthy or isn't very good with money. But for them, it's probably the best option. People just need to be honest with themselves about their partner. They need to ask what their strengths are, as well as their weaknesses. They also need to ask themselves if their partner would ever do anything malicious if they were to break up for any reason..
