This actually helped me understand the Ruckstell two speed rear end MUCH better. On google its hard to find good information on this. The base Model T just had a two speed but then I heard about the Two speed additional rear end High/Low meaning you basically had a four speed transmission. I am wondering, did this increase the overall top speed of the Model T? Did it lengthen the normal gear ratio or was the High gear ratio similar to the Ratio found in the normal Two speed transmission without the Ruckstell Differential?

Milo, thank you -- great tutorial --- have you give thought to an auxiliary (5 gal) hydraulic oil reservoir? I imagine the loader uses much more fluid than the lift cylinder -- might allow for an external spin on filter.

@@MiloFarms do I have to do this with the track down because it seems pretty tough to turn
@MiloFarmsАй бұрын
@@nicholasschwartz2924 they are pretty tough to turn. If you support the track off the ground it is the easiest. Use a breaker bar wrench with an extension and a socket. Switch from 1-2-3 or 3-2-1 never switch from 3-1 as it can break the cam. You can also put a little oil on the moving parts.

When installing the secondary clutch on the spline . Does it have to be pressed . Or do it have one bigger tooth.

It is not indexed on the spline you just take the belt off and then take out bolt. The whole thing slides off. Just don't loose or mix up the shims if it has them.

Milo Farms, I'm so grateful for all of your 2007 Phazer videos! Seriously it has taken a lot of guessing out of my efforts, or at the very least your videos have provided some confirmation of my own troubleshooting and [steep] learning curve as I get more accustomed to doing my own maintenance. I've been having a ton of fun with it honestly. One question for you: I know that my Phazers are going to need a track replacement. Do you have any recommendation on a good replacement track? I have found some, but the issue I've learned about is that the tracks I can buy that are the right size are typically 15" wide instead of the 14" wide Phazer track. I've read that people rip 1/2" off each side of a new track using a table saw, but wondering if there's a better way to buy a new track without spending the top $$ for a stock OEM replacement track (around $1,300 each!). Thanks again!
@MiloFarms2 ай бұрын
The only other track I know of that can be purchased and not cut down only has half inch lugs. It would work well for a trails but not deep powder.
@user-rf4uq3lg3gАй бұрын
@@MiloFarms ok thanks! That's what I was finding too. Do you have a recommended track for powder? I was looking at the Camso Freeride or the Composit C45-177-4452 which is a 15" with 1.77" lugs. Also wanted to ask if you have certain suppliers you prefer to get misc. parts from? I need to order some 1/4 turn shroud screws, plus wind gaurds for my handle bars since I've broken a couple. I'm also chasing a gremlin that won't let one of my fuel pumps run right now, so frustrating! Pretty sure I have a bad connection or corrosion on a plug somewhere, but haven't been able to find it yet. Thanks for any input!

@@user-rf4uq3lg3g I always purchase from Yamaha Sports Plaza www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemparts/c/yamaha_snowmobile/parts As far as fuel pumps not working some of the Yamaha machines had a fuel pump relay that would fail due to cold or ice. They updated the relay and you can purchase a new solid state relay that wont stick
@thejayjaybeАй бұрын
@@MiloFarms right on, appreciate the link. I've seen that before, seems like a good source for many items. Do you recall where you purchased the solid state relay? I've swapped out the fuel pump relay (top row, 2nd from front position in the relay bank) with another relay and doesn't seem to change anything, but not positive that's a valid test. Last week I monkeyed with every wiring plug I could find, pulled them all apart, added dielectric grease, plugged back in, wiggled, tested ground plugs, then at some point the fuel pump kicked back on with initial key turn! While I was putting things back together, I just kept smiling since the key turn engaged the fuel pump when I checked it probably a dozen times. Filled tank back up with fuel (I had drained it to pull/replace fuel pump, which turns out was not bad), then started machine. Right as it was turning over, fuel pump kicked back off and machine wouldn't start. I then manually jumped the fuel pump direct from the battery to the plug, and started/ran my machine for 5 minutes or until low idle kicked in. It cleared my code 81 hand warmers, but the fuel pump hasn't ran since. Maaaaybe it's the relay. Anyway thanks for listening/reading, and any advice you offer is welcome! If you want, I'm happy to share my email/number too. Grew up in Poky, but in the great state of Ada now.
