So where is the dipstick for the motor oil?
@MiloFarms
@MiloFarms 4 күн бұрын
its on top of the oil sump on the right of engine. You unplug the sensor wire and unscrew the dip stick. Read the level with the threads touching not screwed in.

This is a GP 300 (292 Reed Valve Engine) PS It was never a racing sled. Yamaha racing sleds started with SR, SRX, GPX, SSR. I have an 1974 SM292F. These are great sleds for kids and adults. The power to weight ratio is great. The 292/ 300 sleds could beat most 440s because of the power to weight ration. Aaenn performance has a trail pipe that helps bring out the power in this cool sled. Thanks for posting.

I can go into the thermostat service menu and see the last 10 events (Carrier Infinity unit). It shows code 23 and the number of times it opened and closed each day and it showed a fault once. What does it mean if you get the fault only 1 time? Is the switch starting to go out? The heat works.

I would think the switch may be going out or the orifice clogging

If it has not seized up yet you will probably be ok. I would not drive it until it is fixed and run some 50:1 pre mix in the fuel next time you start it and for the first few times after the repair.

Very helpful video. I have the same system as this, and the toilet runs a little bit about every hour so I’m assuming the gasket needs to be replaced. I’m a novice when it comes to plumbing, but I’m willing to bet that the old school plumbers prefer the flap systems over the canisters.

For normal flush operation, the video shows the handle immediately returning to the "up" position and the cylinder going down smoothly to seal the water outlet. My issue is, once I pull down on the lever to initiate a flush, it remains down all the time (intermittently), keeping the cylinder from going down to seal the water outlet and leaks continuously. I have to manually pull the toilet handle up to get it to seat properly. Is this an issue with the toilet handle being tightened too much, not letting the cylinder drop freely, or is there something else causing the cylinder to bind and not seat properly? The same thing happens with the binding when the tank is empty.
@MiloFarms
@MiloFarms Ай бұрын
I have a number of these toilets in our different properties and had the same issue on one. The handle was corroded on the shaft that penetrates the tank. I took the screw (it was tight) out and took the handle shaft out of the tank. I cleaned the corrosion off the handle shaft and put some lubricant on it and reassembled.
@BobMastrovito-x2z
@BobMastrovito-x2z Ай бұрын
@@MiloFarms I tried to get the screw that holds the handle shaft but it was too tight to loosen, even with ratchet and offset screw drivers. What I did was to use a razor blade and inserted it around the screw and the flush handle and around the handle and the plastic part of the handle to remove the crust, then put a few drops of WD-40 into those areas. Presto! That penetrated the shaft far enough to lubricate the handle shaft so it moves freely now. This technique also worked on my other toilet with the rubber flapper. If it happens again, I'm just going to lubricate the shaft and forget about trying to remove that screw. Thanks.

That is correct. As long as it is tuned correctly and the spark is retarded there is very little risk.

I appreciate your video. I sure wish you could show us how to replace mechanical seal and properly shim the impeller.
@MiloFarms
@MiloFarms 2 ай бұрын
I have not yet had to replace the seal. Mine will have to be done eventually. To do so you have to remove the engine to get it out the front. American turbine makes a nice kit that is complete with all the parts already on the shaft for around $1500. As far as the impeller shimming American Turbine also has a good instruction sheet on their website.

@@MiloFarms Amsoil is the best grease I have ever used. one time I rebuilt a sump pump because it was seized, put it back together with regular grease and it seized up in couple of months again. the second time I rebuilt it I used amsoil multipurpose red and it never seized again in the 10 years I owned that house. The oil filter on these is not that far off from how they are on the 6.7 powerstrokes, best thing to have is a strap oil filter wrench and turn the wheel if you are doing it without a lift. Also might be good to invest in a good funnel for adding new oil, makes less of a oil mess all over your valve cover.
