Unethical financial practices always backfires in the long run! Very important that regulators sharpen their skills to detect unethical business practices at an early stage before it boomerangs into a disaster!

This has been incredibly informative, especially in light of the advantages and applications of CFI for decision-making. This is a subject I would like to fully grasp as a manager.

Stop. Think. Act. Not everything legal is ethical. All managers should incorporate this principle into their framework to efficiently maximize shareholder value. It is crucial to remain ethically sound, particularly in financial management, as it has the potential to cripple an entire economy.
@lapeseriki19812 ай бұрын
Interestingly a lot of organizations already practice this without actually calling it CFI. It is an effective and efficient way of financial mgt to ensure optimal returns for shareholders in a sustainable way. It is also a fantastic way of ensuring all employees are actually actively involved in the growth and development of the company.

Creating value for shareholders in an ethical and sustainable way should the responsibility of financial managers. Every manager must not only consider outcomes, but must ensure that outcomes are ethical. Kudos for sharing this knowledge.

Thank you for sharing this video, Dr. A business is a vehicle for creating value for shareholders and other stakeholders, sustainably and ethically. Hence, in my opinion, bringing in corporate financial intelligence to drive this established value, should begin at the level of management and organisational commitment, cascading to the organizational culture, processes, and systems, then to the key performance management indicators, to the managerial intelligence and finally to the corporate financial intelligence scorecard. Implementing CFI in any organisation is bound to infuse all members with a culture of responsibility and excellence.

Insights for me - Not all that is legal is ethical. Stop to think, before you act and then reflect on the decision to be made. Ask, "Can this transaction stand the look in the mirror test"?
@ugochukwueze49732 ай бұрын
Cooperate financial intelligence as explained is quite expedient for all organizations in order to continue creating value for shareholders. It is an important skill which can be learnt, but requires continuous learning. How can organizations learn to implement CFI? What is required to start this journey?
@ctinlox2 ай бұрын
Good to reinforce the knowledge that every decision made in an organization has some bearing with the overall financial targets, and our ability to make the best decisions will in turn help the organization. This means that managers, leaders or any decision maker, at whatever level (board to entry level) needs to acquire skills in corporate financial intelligence. With this, the organizations KPIs will surely be met and efficiently too.

After watching it the first time, I realized that there was so much loaded in the content. I had to start all over again, slowly reflecting on each component of the framework. I feel the ARARD-V framework is applicable beyond finance It is the bedrock for ethical behaviours as a person and as a manager. Thanks Prof for sharing this content

I appreciate the insightful concepts of CFI's cascading impact on the organization. It's a valuable reminder of how decisions in my 'little corner of work', can significantly influence my organization's overall financial health and impact on the overall shareholder value. A deep self-reflection for me: How can I effectively align my day-to-day decisions with the broader financial goals of my organization?🤔🤔

This is very insightful. I listened to the video a number of times so I can internalise the learnings. Having financial acumen as a leader is critical in driving a culture that forsters making of financially intelligent decisions.

This video has enhanced my understanding on the ARARD-V framework. It is such a robust tool which establishes that Ethics in finance go beyond compliance. If applied across the organisation, it will build trust among stakeholders, reduce risks, and protect the company’s reputation. I will encourage management to use the ARARD-V framework and make it a part of our organisational culture, as a checklist in financial decision-making processes. For instance, before making financial decisions, assess if they are accurate, responsible, respectful of stakeholders, and if they truly add long-term value.

The insight from this video cannot be overemphasised. As a leader I see the importance of fostering Corporate Financial Intelligence across the organization because it ensures that not only the finance team but all employees understand how their actions impact profitability, cash flow, and overall performance of the organisation.
@adekunlejumoke17742 ай бұрын
A remarkably insightful watch I must say. The ARARD-V framework presented here is an invaluable tool that should be in every decision-maker's arsenal. It's crucial to emphasize that ethical considerations must be foundational in financial decisions - not merely an afterthought. By integrating ethical values throughout the decision making process, we can ensure our financial decisions serve both profitability and principled business practices. This balanced approach not only mitigates risks but also fosters sustainable, responsible growth in the long term.

Thanks Prof for the insights provided on Corporate Financial Intelligence. You have highlighted the major components businesses need to embrace to achieve good CFI. One interesting point I read from one of your books, "Corporate Financial Intelligence and the Performance Logic" struck a chord for me. "Corporate performance can thus be opportunistic, circumstantial, or orchestrated. It is opportunistic or circumstantial when a company delivers stellar performance that is not directly attributable to the skillful management and decisions of the managers, but is due to the results of favorable operating conditions, and benign competitive conditions. Performance is orchestrated when stellar results are a product of the deliberate, consistent and effective high quality decisions by managers, whether or not the operating and competitive conditions are favorable or not". I agree with this point and I also believe that organizations must be intentional about achieving high Corporate Financial Intelligence Quotient. Thank you for this.

Wellsaid Prof ! Very important that an organization embrace Corporate Financial Intelligence Acumen, having in mind that all functions of the business whether at the managerial level directly or indireclty take decisions that have Financial implications at some point if not most of the time. Will be great to see organizations embed the CFI model to all key staff not just at the managerial level .
