Surely one of THE most beautiful of the many beautiful sacred choral works by Mendelssohn. This is just stunning from start to finish, on par with his 'Deutsche Liturgie'.

In movement 3 at the beginning, the dotted rhythm counterpoint and the semibreve theme switching between parts is so stunning

In movement 1, the bass line from bars 32-39 (1:13-1:33) is absolutely dreamy to sing!! and the harmony too, wow <3
