One of my all-time favorite playthroughs of theirs. You can tell they were still quite awkward, with Arin being a lot less unhinged and Dan still not being 100% comfortable having replaced Jon. I especially like how invested they both are in the game itself, with very little time spent talking about SNL, 80s bands, TV shows or whatever anecdotal stuff they would eventually jabber on for hours in the years to come. (Not to say there's anything wrong with it, but I love seeing the Grumps being so self-conscious about whether or not they're actually being entertaining). Arin sounds especially checked out in their more recent uploads compared to what he's like in here.

I've been a fan of the now defunct Zaibatsu that was the "Super Best Friend's Play" channel, may it rest in peace. They introduced me to the Game Grumps and this was the first video I watched and I've been hooked ever since! The bit at 1:06:26 with the egg and the train sealed the deal...🤣

I think if the spider-man playthrough hadn't ended where it did, Arin would have gotten extremely frustrated with the hideout bit they quit on. I dunno if he was capable of finishing it.

Correction, Donkey Kong that we currently know, is Donkey Kong Jr. Jr.; It is explained all weird but Cranky Kong is the father of DK Jr. who is the one that threw the barrels. DK Jr. had this Donkey Kong as his kid, it never explains what happens to DK Jr. but it is safe to assume Mario murdered him.

Ya know, speaking of Panoptic, the old Assassin's Creed 3 multiplayer had that kinda concept. Everyone played as an assassin, but they looked like NPCs, and everyone's job was to kill the other players while blending in with the NPCs so you don't look suspicious. You'd get a penalty for killing NPCs. It was actually a ton of fun, and I wish they'd bring it back.
