Why did`nt show the stingray? It ist the same like 2024, but it is the also the board for 2025, i got my in November in 126 l V, I`m also ride the 2022 er stingray and yes, the new stingray is a little bit smoother, you fly a little bit earlyer and you can have realy fun as an freerider.

Don’t join this alone unless your level is really high and you can train almost every day upfront. The infos shared are basically what you can find on Windsurfing TV about the Defi. If you fit the profile it might be fun, otherwise you’re pretty much on your own, and it’s almost a hassle to tag along. Surveillance inside the group is non existent. The team leads leave the water when they are done themselves, bye bye. If you happen to show up again later good, otherwise nobody cares. If unsure whether you ‘fit’, better register by yourself and do the training with everyone else in the event area 2 days before. Oh, and they want 800 € for this “service” 😂

what sort of board would you recommend for a beginner to buy (with minimal second hand options and generally cruising in fairly light winds around 13-18 knots). I have had conflicting advice with beginner boards as apparently you outgrow them way to quick.
@Nico_GER75 күн бұрын
Depends a bit on how many days you get on the water. If you get your first 10-30 sessions in quickly, you could consider renting until you have the level for your first freeride board. This could be, for example, a JP Magic Ride in 140+ liters.
@kingprone78464 күн бұрын
@Nico_GER74 күн бұрын
@@kingprone7846 Windsurfer LT is great for just cruising in lighter wind. They even have some championships, which are fun to compete in at any level. Like I said, better to rent the beginner board until you can start on the big freeride board. All the best to Australia!

@@Nico_GER7 i dont think renting is an option (not many windsurfers on the eastcoast) and buying second hand isnt an option either for beginner gear

Nice video and well needed. Im 90 kg beginner and using a 160liter old bic board with a dagger board and 8 m2 ezzy sail which i get planing and into foot straps in around 14 knots but need 16-18 to get planing easily and in other direction than a broad reach. I still need to learn to jibe while planing. What is my next board? And when?

Hey Nico, very interesting video at the perfect time. Done this summer a beginner windsurf-camp, along with a couple training sessions where i rented equipment, which got me really hooked. Next year i want to buy my own first board. I still have an old GUN Sail 6.9 m² Future rig. Would you also recommend the 159l freestyle board for a ~100kg beginner rider or would i need to go higher volume | lower volume in which i could advance into? Thx for reply mate. ;)
@fonsvandenhoveАй бұрын
159L freestyle most likely does not exist. Probably you mean freeride. No higher volume needed.

Hi Nico. Be aware that most lakes have seeweed these days (or a lot of fish). So foiling is mostly not possible. And Fin surfing in light wind is actual al lot of fun (with the right material). Of course surfing (Fin) in mid and strong winds is exciting, but still light wind finsurfing can be exciting to. It give you more time to learn en optimisme your techniek and still experience the thrill of planing. About beginners. Kids (<14) do benefit more from smaller boards. No 130liter but around 100. The smaller sails are working better (for steering) ,the kids weight less and don’t have much problems with their balance.
@wojciechstreicher2413Ай бұрын
Hi, could you describe the boards one step further: freestyle, freewave, wave... differance in stance and how can you modify the board use by tuning the board by changing for a bigger fin for example (if you add a 30cm fin to a freestyle board, how would the board react? 🙂) Thanks for the video!

The mast sleeve/double skin is quite small compare to previous years. It looks like a S_Pace, isn’t it? Is it your experience also that the S_Pace has less upwind capability than a Warp or other Race sails, or is it just me who is not as capable than my colleagues with Warp or Race sails (NP, Severne, Loft).
@JordyVonkNED692 ай бұрын
It's funny how much colours can do, mast sleeve dimensions are identical to 2024! I don't remember any 'upwind problems' on the S_Pace! a couple of tips: In terms of stance: Make sure you turn your hips into the wind, when your hips are turned your gear will follow! In terms of tuning: Make sure your outhaul is a bit tigher, otherwise the sail will pull you downwind. Also try different downhaul settings, personally I like to use more downhaul than the max wind dot in the S_Pace indicates!
@FrancoisTCS2 ай бұрын
@@JordyVonkNED69 thanks you for the answer. I also pull slightly more downhaul on my S_Pace than the reco like I did on the S_Type before. I usually stall at earlier angle than my colleagues with race sails. Like you say, I tried many small steps in the tuning : outhaul, mastfoot position, boom height but no big improvements. The 6,6 “climb” higher than the 7,8…and 7,8 is 65% of the sailing. 🙏🏼👍🏼🤙🏼

Vertel, waarom denk je dat het te kort is ?
@lvds91702 ай бұрын
