Light is great of course, but it does make me question durability. But the main holdup for me is almost 100 bucks a set is pretty steep for a wholesale rate. I understand production costs. But consider this thought, I've been skating over 20 years and running a small skate brand of my own, and my mindset has always been if a company does OEM for EVERY skate product, they cant specialize in any one area. Meaning overall quality would be expected to just be "so-so" in comparison to lesser priced competitors that actually specialize in that market area. I'm just one guy of course, but I might suggest sending out a bunch of these in the field as promotion. If you really did create the lightest (yet well performing) truck, then the hype will catch on by word of mouth and other skater's socials. But skaters are notoriously poor so if you want to get the word out about this, that price tag will probably hold ya back quite a bit. LOVING the stock inverted kingpin option though and if you are ever looking for an honest review from a skateboarder that doesn't really care for any trucks on the market right now, I'd be happy to run a set thru the trials.
@2HEX Жыл бұрын
It's 60 USD per set in shops. Shops (wholesale) is a lot cheaper. On skate618.com one set is 60 USD with free shipping inside the U.S. I think. On worldshop.com one set is 47 USD and worldwide shipping is 28 USD. I think they will take off by themselves. We just recently started selling them.

Very interesting! I admire the innovation and drive to create a new product. I am curious as to why people like super light trucks though. The Tensor Mag light is already pretty much unskatable to me so I can't imagine anything lighter! Anything lighter than a Thunder Light is a no-go for me. I had bought a pair of Titanium Light Thunders a couple years back, I ended up giving them to a friend after a couple of weeks because they were wayyyy to light. I need that heft in my setup. If it is too light I get ghost pop and it doesn't even feel like skateboarding! So, where is the appeal for you guys that like super light trucks?
@RikRiorik Жыл бұрын
I imagine if you start out on very light trucks or really commit to it for a looong time you might end up adjusting to it. That said I’m the same. I need a little bit more weight because that is what I am accustomed to.

Its personal taste and preference. Some skaters skate better the lighter their board, others really like their board to be heavy and most people are somewhere in the middle. This truck is not for the mainstream skater, its for the niche that likes their boards as light as possible

@2HEX Жыл бұрын
The skateboard truck development was an incremental process starting from roller skate trucks. Indy was just one step of the process. Indy was based on Tracker. Tracker was based on Roller Derby. Tensor built up on Indy... But yes, Indy's marketing is strong at making people believe they are the only company. They are so good at marketing, that they just made you post their slogan ;-) But wait... Even Thrasher writes that Indys are the only real trucks! Sometimes they also advertise for Thunder, so they should know, right? But Indy is Thrasher... it's the same guy, Fausto Vitello. Amazing marketer. So much so that you think its yourself talking when you repeat his slogans. Let's say you would then go to Thrasher's second most advertised truck brand, Thunder? Now Fausto got you into believing, that you went to a competitor while you are still buying his trucks.

I am a major fan of the lightest everything in skating. So when a new lighter light truck comes out, I’m enthusiastic. Not down-playing because I’m not a fan. That being said. Tensor mag lights are the one and ONLY trucks that I’ve actually snapped kingpins straight in half while skating very low impact things and I’m very thin/light weight (150 lbs). I actually had to swap out my tensor mag hollow lit baseplates with tensor mag solid baseplates and paired those with the mag light hollow hangers. As the baseplates are forged so when kingpins snap, you can’t simply replace them like you can other trucks. This is for hex production team. Be AWARE OF THIS MAJORRRR FLAW!!! If you wanna just okay it safe, don’t make baseplates forged so kingpin is swappable. Would still make your truck come in under next lightest, keeping title as worlds lightest. And to be able to rectify this most major malfunction of the tensor mag light hollows…. You’d be winning in style. Clear and concise. Also, make a low version. Technical street skaters are who like light trucks . And many of us also like a lower truck. Keep everything technical friendly. It’s we who are your main consumer!!!
@2HEX Жыл бұрын
thanks for the feedback! so far we haven't had any kingpin issues luckily! its crazy how precise a super light truck design has to be. if there is too much pressure anywhere, that part snaps. We are considering a two part baseplate - where pivot and kingpin are not connected - your experience with light trucks - what would you think would happen? where would the breaking point be?
