THIS. I completely resonate with you. On my last job, I was suddenly assigned multiple tasks beyond contract and beyond my role's responsibilities without any title change, a raise in compensation, or even one ashamed act from my boss, and I saw how this exploitation would go on forever. I was SO upset not mainly because of the overloaded work, but because I felt disrespected as a human being that deserves to be treated with genuineness. I always gave this role all my effort, and the boss always praised me, but this is what I got in return? So I quit without hesitation, and I can't be more satisfied. "If you work hard, you'll be rewarded with more work" is the absolute truth.

I am in the same boat this week. About to quit my job and just figure it out from there, tired of the feeling emotionally, mentally and physically drained all the time. I feel like I am in fight or flight mode constantly. 😢

Do not just quit without a backup plan and at least a year's savings. This video could be summed up in 10 minutes

I am about to do the same thing and I am so scared. I have support from my husband and friends, but I keep feeling like I’m being unfair to my husband even after he has made it clear he supports and stands with me in this decision.

Doing my reset too! I’m putting half of my decor and knick knacks in a bin this time, like i do with my summer clothes and then i’m going to switch everything out next summer! my goal is to create novelty with things I already own rather than getting rid and buying new🥴 this video inspired me to get on it! lol

You seem to be unaware of mental health conditions such as ADHD and autism, and your suggestion is obviously not feasible for individuals like myself. It's frustrating because it's the same advice we've heard countless times before, and it's not something we can simply do.
@fromsarahjolie
@fromsarahjolie 3 ай бұрын
I’m so sorry this video gave you that impression! Definitely not my intent to undermine mental health conditions at all. Speaking from my own experience managing my own ADHD, I’ve actually found that batching tasks has helped a lot with prolonging focus! It helps minimize external distractions between switching tasks. However, when my mind does wander while batching, I’ll try to write down the thought/to-do as a later task instead of indulging myself to pivot in the moment. Or, if I’m really having a hard time sitting down, I’ll just make the batched task shorter before rewarding myself with a quick break (eg. just copy all these folders in one go!) I know productivity tips can be more difficult to apply for those of us with mental health conditions - so hopefully these little tweaks are helpful if you want to implement batching into your life 🤍

One of my favorites is automating repeat purchases - make a list of all household goods/toiletries and make note of the interval you purchase them. Marketplaces like Amazon allow you to do subscribe & save on those!
@fromsarahjolie

Another is just creating templates and processes for EVERYTHING. If I’m doing similar work over and over, I’ll always document what the step by step process looks like so I don’t have to figure it out again each time. I then find tools/apps to speed it up certain parts (for example, I pay for this app called Gling which helps me edit out all the bad takes in my videos!). Hope this helps :)

Sarah, I've followed you on tiktok since around the time you quit your job to take some time for content creation. I think you post less on there now but you came across my youtube recommended very recently and I'm so happy to be here. I love your confidence in the way you speak and your content is things I need to hear that I didn't think to watch before finding you. Like someone else said, I don't comment much on youtube in general, but I'm interested and eager to see what else you do in your life. There's so much I can learn from you and I feel like we'd be friends but I live across the country! haha. I graduated college in spring 2023 and just hit my 1 year at my tech consulting job. I'm always thinking about my future and i feel i have gotten a bit "too comfortable" with what I'm doing right now, but I've been thinking more about how to grow in both my career and my life outside of work. I feel like I don't have many people to talk about these things with but i feel like we're talking when I watch your content. overall just wanted to say keep being you :)
