I help a seed dealer buddy receive loads on occasion, and they all have electric pallet jacks. If you keep running these loads, you should look into one. A used one isn't that expensive. I have a few buddy's that deliver seed for corteva that run out your way from Indiana.

Hope you get feeling better soon. While yes we don’t know what your plans are but as a 38 year driver that just did 2 years in a auto shift truck which I got rid of and bought another one that is a manual I will tell you it sure is nice to have a manual again. Much more comfortable with it being a manual. To each their own some people like the automated manual which is fine but not my choice ever again. Whatever you decide I wish you the best. Get some rest and feel better.

Check the motor mounts. Go under the truck with a flashlight. You will know if they need to be changed. (Speaking from experience) Another thing while you’re going down the road push in the clutch and if it stops under load that will narrow it down.

Get the truck on a dyno, figure out the vibration, put injectors in and go make some money. If you buy a new truck you'll have a big payment and higher insurance. Get a line of credit and get it done. New trucks are a pain.
@adamlangworthy34535 күн бұрын
There's options out there to get injectors and do payments so you don't drop all your cash in one shot

Being in California and being forced to get newer trucks the last few years. I’ve had a couple X15’s and now have a DD16 Detroit. Rarely have and issues with newer trucks, and when you run hard it is nice having newer equipment. Especially when it’s cold, or hot for that matter.

Sounds like your going to make the right decision. You probably think I’m one of the rude commenters, but I’m not, I’m just telling you like it is. If you were close to retirement it would be different, but you’re not. You’re a young guy with a family. Now is the time in your life when you need to have more dependable trucks that may cost more and may have a truck payment but that’s just how it is right now. As you age and your kids get older and you get closer to retirement then you would not want that of course.You just can’t be running around right now in these old unreliable trucks while you’re trying to raise a family and probably do other stuff

Get the drive tires on a wheel balancer and see if they are the problem. I have had bad tires give me the symptoms you are chasing. Hell take the drive wheels off your rental and take them for a spin on your FLD. Keep after it! Don't give up on the old Girl!
@mitchchandler82435 күн бұрын
Keep the fld and when you can take it to a shop and let them find the vibration, it may keep you from having to buy another truck.

Find a reputable injector rebuilder approx $200 a piece & run an oil sample. Hammer down!
@ronthompson35255 күн бұрын
It’s now become obvious that your not ment to own a truck. Throwing money and parts at it is feudal. Your demeanor is to passive. Lots of little whining about this or that people other drivers. It’s a big boy game. You gotta wear a big boy pants. You gonna make big boy decisions if you can’t do that it’s probably time to step away.
@youtubeisawesome24875 күн бұрын
drive to the highway, take out the driveline, pull it with your rental truck to vibration speed. will let you know if its brake drums or tires. playing with the ride height is free. adjust it by a inch till it gets worse or better.
@Lostagain98595 күн бұрын
Just a thought. Have you taken a oil sample and sent to the lab to verify fuel dillution? Pittsburgh Power uses the best lab with easy to read results and they will go over it with you if you would like explanation. I believe it is in the 50 buck range. Order the kit on their website they will send it with the prepaid mailer take the sample and send it off.

Sounds like you have it covered, but I see that Trucker Path has one load spot cargo insurance now. You can check the cost for free.
@michaelkelley16265 күн бұрын
Since you're still having vibration issues, swap the tires and rims from your rental truck to the FLD and take a drive. This will confirm or rule out the tires are your issue.

When you get to where it's vibrating kick it out of gear and let it coast and you'll be able to tell where it's coming from. If it's still vibrating it's your tires or rims is what my husband says.

Whatever you end up doing, I'd keep the FLD. It's got good specs. Long wheelbase, big tanks, etc. Be worth a complete rebuild in the future. There's a plethora of old FLD's out there in various states of repair and spec's a zillion different ways. May be the B model Mack of the future so to speak.
