In reality, simple minds is not what it used to be. There is someone missing and.... : it's You. Big fan, I often immerse myself in listenning to the mythical albums like street fighting years, new gold dream or in the city of light.... God only knows for how long I will be nostalgic ; Maybe until my last breath.. Have a great christmas.. best regards. Jean-Pierre

This is amazing. Hope some movie producers get to hear this. Would make for great soundtrack to a series. "Act of love is a luxury, the suit he wears belongs to me.. ."

hey mick, many thx for unforgettable memories of my life. I saw you and the band live a 5 times from 1985 to 1991 (2 x Munich, Vienna, Innsbruck. Füssen). Its true the band is the half without you. "In the city of light" was my first CD i bought and its until today on of the best live gigs i ever saw, and i saw a lot ;). So thank you again for one of my best times and moments in my live, i wish you the best and may health, joy and Contentment be with you.

@mickmacneil1 Hi from SW France. My mate in Glasgow went to see big Dan’s gig the other night and he mentioned that there are demos of songs from Once Upon a Time with him on bass. Would you have such a thing and could you share? The only thing I have is a bootleg from Barrowlands where you play I Travel as Ghostdancing (Charlie’s sus4 guitar thing). Thanks in advance. And a sincere thanks again for inspiring me to take up the keys.

Do you remember the Wake up Radio system in the eighties ? i remember the first time i heard it. i was litteraly awaken by the song at seven, probably half-dreaming, then hearing the radio DJ saying "this is the new Simple minds song.... Mandela day". Slow paced.. but subtly building up then Charlie s incredible guitar solo !!! I still remember how uplifted i felt that day ! The album wasnt even out.

The first time I saw Simple Minds was in September 1981 at the Bingley Hall in Stafford the week that 'Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call' was released. Kenny was playing with them then. RIP

What makes me laugh is that this wasn't recorded on a phone but a huge recorder the size of the one Del Boy had in his flat.😂 Not immediately apparent from the footage.

Mick rises up through the clouds⛅️.....in the City of Light. With the Book of brilliant things instrumental solo.... Classic. Who never got a shiver down the spine listening to the one and only Mick MacNeil at his best. Jim and Charlie are you watching in 2024? Hope so!!! Mick was the heart 💛 in the logo. Thanking you so much for the post. 👌

Hahaha! Genius. Mick always put perfect layers and beds in SM tracks. For mine, the keyboards on the first 5 albums were astonishing work. From 1979 from far away Australia, SM and MM were pure oxygen. With deepest thanks.

Classic...post by Mick. Awesome !!! This is how it should sound. Early 80's style. Love the way it starts with, in trance as a mission through to 30 frames a second, into celebrate mix. 👌 Can see at the start how your getting a buzz with a smile, playing your amazing synths at the beginning. Thanking !!! You, Brian and Derek also, for the fantastic sounds you created to all the dearly missed die hard fans. Regardless that no longer with Jim and Charlie. But either way, we all salute you 5 for all the creativity, hard work and entertainment over the years. Thanking also, all session players on dedication to bring out SM at its best !!! Just now waiting for a tour hopefully before you all retire. Was that 3 men went into a fish tank in the search of two other fishes to give us....... The world tour COUNTDOWN !!! a hint to say one is on the way ? HOPE SO !!! Or was that a big NO at the end?
