I'm frustrated as I have textures downloaded from On1 rewards but I cannot pull them into my On1 editor. They don't appear in my downloads when I'm in On1. Any suggestions? I'll need to rectify that problem before proceeding with the edits. Thank you. Love your work!

Teresa, I will create a video on how to do this, I know how frustrating it is when you get stuck on something in a software and can not move forward. I will do a screencast video so you can follow along. It is easy if someone shows you how. Hope that helps and I will try and upload it this week.

Unless you an 80 year old man who has been logging all his life and this was the last time he was able to do this. So hardly a waste of time. Think before you give negative comments as you usually have no idea of what is going on. Did your mommy not teach you that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing?

sure is a time consuming way to do it, i'd let them just drag the log.
@paigeismypony11 жыл бұрын
they cut the hair not the tail bone. its so it doesnt get tangled up . and most people use fly sheets or spray now on their horses to keep the bugs off so its no big deal.

Great video - you captured just the right perspective which I need for a picture! And I so enjoyed all the details to placing the log! Thank you ))))))

6 minutes of loading logs, less than a minute showing the horse at work.

have u ever been whipped in the face when u bend down to grab the whiple tree it hurts and cutting the tail does not bother the horse

Seems time consuming, here in Michigan/ USA we just set a pair of tongs or wrap a log chain around and go, nosing up the log helps and some guys chain the log on a skid plate, in any case you can't hurt the horse, they will only pull what they want to.

i had a draft horse and those horses get so excited when they know they are going out and doing work....its in their blood...

i dont get it why do you use that contraption... that horse can pull twice the weight of that tree... i dunno, maybe i dont get it, but here (Croatia) they'd smack two hooks in the tree and let it b towed away! what makes it even more funny is Croatians are nowhere as good as Westerners when it comes to draft animal technology - we use german 16th century tech... and it's still be faster.

Docking, which is surgically cutting the tail, not just the hair, is now illegal in most places, the horse needs its tail to keep the flies away
@GigiEmbrechts12 жыл бұрын
I have to agree to mtjoanna, but in Belgium any horse under 5 can not have a docked tail. Many are of course getting around this, but this is the law. So some are cutting the tail hair short and braiding it up. Which I agree, that way when they are out in the pasture they can still use their tails for bugs. Which in July the horse flies here are terrible. Sad to see a horse trying to swat flies with a docked tail.

Sorry...but I think id go broke if I had to pay 2 or 3 men nearly 7 minutes to hook one small log to the dray to haul out to the landing :(

Using a tractor isn't easier. To the contrary. People tend to overlook the fact that the energy neccessary to manufacture a machine, maintenance, oil extraction, refining, transportation and sales of the fuel is for free. Furthermore using heavy machinery in forests is very problematic. While someone having a horse gets the "fuel" for free in front of his house, machines need stuff that's 50% fossile fuel and 50% human blood.

Very nice video! Maybe, it took bit longer, than any usual customer would be ready to pay, but the cart as such and the technique is very interesting. There is just one thing, that I will never understand: Why do they cut the tail!?
@damijan7213 жыл бұрын
very nice pictures ... but why do you still cut the tail?!?
@madcookie7113 жыл бұрын
why does it matter how long it takes? surely the activity itself is more important then a spead record? also, these gentlemen obviously have the time to spend! leave them to enjoy the outdoors and the horse forestry! dont be so critical.

I pulled out a lot of logs and never spent that much time getting a log ready to pull down a strait level rd.

This was at the end of the day, earlier the trees were a foot or two wide. It is a way also to train the horses not just for practical work. If you want to do it easiest way someone would get a tractor. Life is not always about easy.
