Hello there, thank you for sharing. I have a 4 yrs old female Jack Chi with this issue, and she does eat 1 or 2 big meals a day, so I will follow your advice of doing small frequent meals instead. Any dog food brand/type you recommend to help with this problem? Thanks!

Hi! A change in diet might help if splitting up the meals doesn't, however as dogs are all different it really depends on each dog what type of diet might be suitable. The first thing I'd try is swapping to a diet that contains a little less fat or fibre, if this doesn't help then try changing the meat/protein source, so if you usually feed a food that contains chicken, try one with fish for example. If you usually feed dry food, try adding in a little wet or changing to wet/fresh food. Unfortunately, it's a little trial and error. Good luck!

Dogs' stomach is not slightly acidic, but almost like undiluted hydrocloric acid.

Thanks for that. I have recently moved my two Spaniels to cold pressed but one of the dogs is poohing more often and is eating a lot of grass. Should I bring back the kibble?

Possibly, but there could be other reasons for the increased poo and grass eating. For example, did you change diets gradually? If it was a sudden change then their digestive systems might need a little longer to adjust. The other thing that can cause these issues is the volume they are eating. Each food has a different calorie/energy level and different fat and fibre levels, they may need less of the new food - excess nutrition can cause them to poo more. It could also be down to a change in ingredients rather than a change in cooking process. So, it is difficult to pinpoint. I'd double-check the feeding amounts, give it a couple of weeks if you have recently changed their diet, and then if there's no improvement it might be that they can digest extruded food easier. Hope this helps!

Explains why some dogs love to graze on grass and why they love carbohydrates like me. Thank you 😊
