I like to use zero blitz philosphy here with man on man no saftey over top. I call my mike lb robbber. He undercuts all inbetween hashs routes to one side or other. My forth or fox de can line up opposite other de or on the same side and pass rush with two or three man stunts. My saftey and bandit saftey alternate who brackets with all flat and out routes with cb's for post or seam routes with slb or wlb while other side who doesnt blitz qb.

Useless info. Thought it would tell what to call based on the defensive alignment.

I’ve always thought that most “tempo” slot T offenses are bending the rules. All offensive players have to be set for 1 second before a player who’ll be in motion at the snap can co in motion. Yet, I see many teams getting away with hurrying to the LOS, and then a wingback goes in motion basically as soon as they set - not waiting for one full second. Seems like an illegal shift to me. But since they do it nearly every play it’s never called. Slot T offenses seem dependent upon the refs not calling this penalty.

We always used to teach the backs how to run from every position. There isn't a lot to learn for blocking, or running the ball. I don't know whether the kids or the coaches have become lazy and only want to teach/learn how to stand on the right side or left side.

Good look at the inner working of that play. And just as you pointed out having Belly to compliment it works wonders

I never thought of check-downs on screens before, thanks! But why is the play side of the line blocking DL instead of encouraging the DL deep for the possible shovel?

Coach Hubbard is the best coach in America in my opinion! He changed my entire approach bc now we no longer had a situation where defenses could take away the outside run!

Just implemented this formation this season. Hardest part was getting our TE/Wing to block inside without dealing with the DE to create the Alley. But it was an easy play to get our backup QB to adjust and read. Ran a Slant Seam backside and it was consistent

A question for you gurus: Army tried the gun-option this past season to very mixed success and they appear to be returning to under-center option next season. What went wrong?

Most key thing hes said. Stop the run first! Through all levels of football. Look at cincy a few years ago. Sauce on a lockdown roll out there and 10 other guys to figure everything else out. Corners and d tackles with lbers and a decent o can win games! Big games.

Good stuff coach. We ran a similar Buck pass with the TE on a seam rt and the wing on a wheel and most times they were both open. Ill post a link here in a minute.

Does the defense get more time to see the play develop? What is the clear advantage of more ball handling out of a shot gun? Vs under center?

I'd rather see the QB keep his hand inside the framework of his body as he fakes to the wing. Keep the ball hidden from the defense.

@@vicknewman9418 oh yeah… they play teams all over the country as a small 1A school in Maryland. They literally pay the travel expenses for teams to play us from Florida. Yet they remain better than most 6A teams they face. As a matter of fact, they have played the toughest schedule in Maryland for at least the past decade… and they only have 650 students

Tackle trap pass: I like to have the QB continue attacking the flank after faking the counter and run the TE on a drag . Get him the ball quick. He is wide open most times.

It’s not just the offense. It is a total year around program. They have a book they go by. It’s three inches thick. They even have a plan for water breaks. The attention to detail is impossible to imagine.
