Seems today's game with emphasis on Offensive Linemen "Sitting Down" instead of "Firing Out" would allow for a Linebacker to disengage after a "Shiver" Technique without regard to momentum "follow through". This means rarely will the "Shiver" Technique stop a blocker totally in his tracks. The "Shiver" Technique usually will allow just enough separation for the attacker to free himself to pass a block. If you watch the video closely, you will see the window allows Offensive Linemen to be successful even when a good "Shiver" Technique is applied..... WATCH: As the Linebacker shoots his hands forward in the "Press" position, he creates separation (GREAT), but on his release to pursue to ball, his elbows also shoot backwards creative a reverse momentum of his upper body. All this happens as he attempts to move forward-laterally to the ball. IN THIS INSTANT, a Lineman who is following through his initial approach still has the opportunity to re-engage the Linebackers body, as the Linebacker has just left his body open by returning both elbows backwards. This video is an amazing example of the Quickness, Strength, and pure Violence with which Linebacker should apply a "Shiver" Technique. I am looking for the next video that shows the uses of the "Trail Hand" that assures a complete passing of an offensive blocker.

its sad that these kids have no life coping skills.. the problem is bigger than sports... as a former athlete and a parent of 2 atheltes. this is an opportunity to teach them coping skills...they will face other hurdles in their lives and they need to learn to adjust and not give up... this is a rich kid problem... children around the world do not have the privilege that these kids are exposed to... this is temporary... it sad that they have defined their identity only to sports at such a young age... if they were injured tomorrow they would be in the same situation... this is an opportunity to teach ALL these athletes life coping skills that will set them up for life-long success.. Athletes are tough.. they will rise the occasion IF they are give the correct coping skills.. 1- it's not all about them.. give back during this time.. 2- talk to athletes that are permanently injured and hear their stories 3-find alternate ways to train in the interm 4-work on your life plan for after sports ...again this is REALLY temporary and sad that WE our society have set these athletes up for emotional and situational failure by not preparing them to cope with real life... Good luck coach!

Thank you so much it needed to be shared and your love and support over the years no matter near or far my heart and soul is always home with you . Like I’ve said to you and chase mase training is not a gym it’s a home and a safe place to achieve your goals no matter what they are I’m a prime candidate of what your talking about yes I’ve stopped using alcohol and drugs now for almost 29 years I’m 48 . My support group is church and AA and also my friends that I’ve played ice hockey over the years . So back in 2015 I had an obesity problem my mind was mentally unstable and I had got into an accident at work where I broke my leg and almost lost it I was so depressed and hated myself for getting to a point where I needed help . I picked up the phone and called you remember I’ve haven’t spoken to you in several years and all you said was come home that first step I made was a huge burden off my back . So showing up at mase Training and speaking to you and chase who whole heartedly spoke about where I was physically mentally and emotionally you put me on the right track and at no point did you ever give up on me and stared me in the wrong direction if Lost weight you gave praise if I gained some back you gave guidance and the truth now it wasn’t easy but with your help lead me back to church and giving back to the community in ways I couldn’t even fathom. I sponsor men in AA and speak to people struggle with depression. Since 2015 I found a new job I’ve lost weight gained some back and found myself again . I now live in Maryland I work for a pharmaceutical company and have been working through these tough and trying times but at no point have I been back in that place I was because reaching out and picking up that phone to call you . I like to say thank you for all you do and staying the course for your commitment to health and wellness and spirituality not just in my life but for all the lives you touched so deeply all these years love you brother.
