This is happening because of the terrible functioning of the justice system in Turkey and the corrupt administration they have. Instead of assigning the authorities who can really deal with the issue, they are removing access to the entire application and leaving millions of people victimized. They simply banning everything beacause they fail to lock 2 simple ciriminals away

As an Turkish guy' ive had discord on my laptop so it banned for Mac OS people I swear a god im not using vpn to log in discord but I don't have VPN for to log I have discord on my phone and I try it and its still logged but as an Turkish guy Turkish didn't banned it so I tell my friends to log on discord they logged it but I tell them on whatssaap so I tell them "are u guys using VPN to log on it" they said no I said "where are u guys from?" they said Turkish so as Turkish people cannot log on it they just wanted to have some fun :( edit:i spent 6 hours to find out

I am a young man at 21 years old. Current president, Erdogan, has been leading the country ever since before I WAS BORN. I've only lived to see things get worse. They have an extremely bad sense of internet and social media in general. The reason Discord was banned regards to some news that just broke out in Turkey. I don't want to drop a history class here, but basically a few criminal organizations were managing their business on Discord, and this was known and called out for YEARS. The government did not care at all. But this time, news broke in as 'Crime hosting platform Discord has once again showed its true colors' or something like that, and bam. They straight up banned the platform. They do not care about actually fixing the crimes, but they rather try to calm the media by 'we took down the platform of the evil'. Also, I have seen other comments as to government asking Discord for the IP addresses of the criminals, however, government has a history of giving seriously misleading, and sometimes straight up made-up information regarding news. So, I personally do not find this trustworthy.

The reason Turkiye banned Discord is because the Discord administration does not share the IP addresses and other information of criminal users with the Turkish government when necessary. If you do online research on Turkiye's recent news and agenda, you will understand that the Turkish government is right about this. Our government is working to ensure the safety of Turkish citizens. Therefore, I support my government in this regard.

The thing is Discord gave permission to this for the FBI and CIA but not other countries intelligence agencies, like Russia, Turkey, and China. Which is why discord is banned in these countries. Let's be honest though, countries don't request such things for the interests of protecting their people, but to use it as a spying way. This also shows that discord is biased or forced into the side of US.
