I did some testing, and it looks like Yowie is just bugged and doesn't work when summoned during your opponent's draw phase. I reported the bug to the EDOPro team, so hopefully they'll fix it. In the meantime, I'll just need to remember to steal it during your standby phase instead.

The hard part about balencing this series is until Archtypes become super prevalant its gonna be just decks of 30 limited cards plus whatever got pulled that week. Its good either way and theres not a lot that can he done about that without a fundimental change to banlist philosphy.

I was wondering about the Thunder Dragon cards, makes sense leave them out. They're not nearly as exportable as the union monster.

I decided to look into "1600 Tribal" a bit more after this episode. It's definitely something you could build, but Thunder Hand is the only card that directly supports it, so everything else would just be a pile of the best generic monsters with 1600 ATK/DEF. And I could only find one bad generic card that cared about monsters with the same atk. So not a whole lot to work with. But maybe it will end up being more viable in this format. Though it would help if I had a playset of Mataza.

In just the DM era, we had: - Effects that were printed way too late to be useful become staples - Unusable monster effects suddenly become broken because they were put on monsters with different stats - Terribly statted monsters ending up with some of the best effects in the game - Playing directly into face up cards because we couldn't read them - Failing to read our own cards correctly because we've never used their effects before - Cards that work so well together that you'd swear they were designed to go together - Amazoness being tier 0 on release - A banlist full of cards that have never been banworthy in any other context, mostly with effects that aren't usually banworthy either It's everything I could have hoped for.

My guess about Flamberge and the tokens was wrong. They apparently do still count as monster cards for those sorts of effects (Predaplant Moray Nepenthes works normally with them, for example). However, the rules state that tokens can only be summoned from outside of the game. I suspect that using my Spear Dragon to steal your Angler was the objectively superior play, especially since it would allow me to effectively cheat around the hard OPT on their effect. But the token was a pain to deal with, and I was curious what would happen to it, and I was able to leave you without any monsters, so I went with that play instead.

You finally got another win. And all it took was the best board breaker in the game and the most degenerate burn/stall card we've seen so far. I also just realized that I could have won the second game. On the turn you got me with TT, I just needed to not summon a token, then use a token, Tiger, and the Dragon to make Flower Wolf to empty some zones, then summon Great Angus, use it to summon your Armor Exe and Thunderball, then use them to make Robolady, which could banish your Ectoplasmer. And then I would have enough damage on board to win before you could activate your TT. I think I just forgot that Chaos Angel doesn't actually need to use a Light/Dark monster as a tuner.

Duel Academy becoming so good is one of my favorite things that has happened in this series. It makes me wonder what it might have done if it was actually printed at this time. My guess is that Warrior toolbox decks were common enough that it probably would have been pretty good.

I see Arkana playing the Nightmare magicians way more than Pegasus ever using them since he also plays a Dark Magician deck

Congrats on how far you've come. Being able to put out a video every week is no small feat. Plenty of people drop hobbies much earlier than this. And I'm just glad that my crazy idea for an experimental new format has turned out to be so much fun. Thanks for giving me a chance to play it and a platform to share it.

I don't think I noticed at the time that you would have won game 3 if you had preemptively flipped Remove Brainwashing at the end of my turn. Of course, without knowing that your topdeck would be another monster that would allow you to close out the game, I think it was a reasonable choice to save it.

That Amazoness deck was insane. Showing off the wacky stuff you get to do when cards treat formerly non-archetypal cards as part of the family.

In retrospect, I probably should have kept Chaos Robolady a secret since I had already won the match. But I couldn't just not summon it. And obviously it didn't matter, but at the end of game 2 I could have summoned Melchid, fused it, Nightmare Elf, and your dragon into Flower Wolf, and then used After the Struggle/Last will to summon anything with 600+ atk to win a turn earlier. You can even see me considering the play, but I decided against it. I think I probably forgot to count Flower Wolf's atk when running the numbers in my head, so I didn't think I had enough damage available.

I suspect I am the only person to ever have three Grand Tiki Elders on my field at once. I am certain I am the only person to have two Grand Tiki Elders owned by my opponent on my field at once, along with one of my own.

I always thought yusaku would play a card like superpolly but a cybers version he would make in a desperate situation in his duel against AI, but instead of fusing, it would link. BTW, a hotdog is nat a sandwich!

I found this series after you mentioned it in the your recent vid, and I know this is 2 years old, but you looking at 5 Headed Dragon and saying "This is a good Instant Fusion target" was so funny. I know you meant Future Fusion, but for a second I was like my brother in Ra what?!

Well that was incredibly unbalanced. Very fun though. As much as I love our shuffle prog series, I feel like this format is a much better way to use the shuffler for most people.
