Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Great interview. Just wanted to share my thought on Sir Geoffrey Hinton's question - "Does human brain do back propagation?" - My intuition is yes. I learned that the neuro plasticity of Human brain can be changed to be healthier by rewriting stories in your head of what you understood and remember from what and when you experienced with a better understanding of the same experience with what you know now. This has been studied and confirmed to help human brain by Psychiatrist Dr. Gabor Mate and the Psychologist Marsha M. Linehan that proposed Dialectical Behavior Therapy. This seems to be the reason for the different weights in each Brain (Generational Weights and Life Experience Weights) Point of Concern Noted: Bad Actors could use this for privacy breach or winning a power struggle

Typical academic scientists trying to get rich by creating "disruptive tech". We had combinatorial chemistry, siRNA, CRISPR, now it is AI. I remain skeptical unless see a strong evidence.

Loved his strategy of using "Top Five Things" emails to promote open communication and reflects on how this approach, set in motion a year ago, has positively impacted the organization in 2024. It succinctly highlights the successful implementation of short-term action plans based on the CEO's vision.

Science progressed entirely by using experiments to validate the truth of various beliefs. Using simulations to test our beliefs about hidden mechanisms of learning and representation and computation is such a brilliant breakthrough

I have thought about the reason why networks can learn correct correlations even with half of training data has wrong labels. The wrong labels are random but right labels are coordinated, in other words signal adds up while noise cancels out

its crazy canada had him and yet canada has so low productivity and investing marketing, that no companies came out of it and the us had to do it. goes to show how much leaps and bounds the us is ahead of everybody else. basically if you want to change the world, there is no other place than the us.

Yeah. So many fields have moved forward and medicine has stagnated. "Will we get rid of disease altogether?", well that the million-dollar question.

Most of society is still asleep at the wheel. This isn't a statement of arrogance, but rather an observation of how few people are actually truly aware of how world-changing AI is, and in a very short span of time.

But machines don't think. What the current AI is AGM, Advanced Guessing Machines, that is great when you want them to guess if a picture contain cancer cells, but is quite broken for chat or driving cars. It's even turning out to be a dead end that can't archive 100% guess accuracy and they can't THINK, so they can't take the step into human replacement, they always need a THINKER to verify they are not suggesting that we cook our food in baby fat that we harvest by making children harvesting factories. Since the LLM has no concept of what it is saying.

When you talked about the picture from the conference, it would have been nice to see it on screen and not have to switch tabs to Google it. Also you habe great eye contact, and maybe I'm projecting, but I feel like it might distract people who are trying to articulate thoughts. After all, many geniuses are neurodivergent. Overall, great intetview and nice production

Both an economist & a brilliant physicist. If there's anyone these days who understands what the future of AI & technology will be it would be Max Tegmark. Scientists like him need to be consulted by our lawmakers in order for AI to be a safe technology in my opinion.

I was thinking about this, but I have a confusion. In case of anger the definition fits, but what action within constraints correspond to the feelings involved in sentences like "I'm feeling sick" or "I'm feeling happy"?
