I’m really confused. Do you only cut 1 front and 1 back bodice? Or do you cut 2 of each? Also when sewing, do you see the front and back piece together? My front bodice doesn’t seem wide enough across my chest
@ThriftFilippa14 күн бұрын
@@jodiemortiboys5970 yes i cut one front and one back bodice piece on a folded fabric. They are sewn together in the side seams (then the zipper will be sewn into one side seam). If the front bodice is not wide enough something went very wrong in calculations because it is supposed to be very much too large! Or did you maybe not cut it on a fold?

Im really not an expert but since they are all stitches and all connected I don’t think they are likely to come out! I also put fabric glue on the back and put a slip protection, which will help it stick even better.

Hello, this tutorial has been SO helpful so far, but I’m confused about the waist measurement drawing, you only put 17 centimeters and I don’t understand how you got that measurement😅 10:35
@ThriftFilippa5 ай бұрын
Hey, so I briefly mentioned how for the waist piece you want to measure the widest part of your stomach area basically, so on top of the ribs for me, but I had gotten this confused and instead I took my waist measurement (the smallest part of the stomach) which for me was 68 cm, so that divided into 4 (front and back bodice cut on a fold) is 17 cm. But again, this was too tight for me, as I should have taken the measurement for on top of my ribs divided by 4. I hope this makes sense!
@farishaaa_f5 ай бұрын
I’m 11 so the largest part of my waist is actually 68 cm, so divided by four is 17 cm I don’t understand how that’s supposed to fit around my whole waist.. is it only the front part of waist or around the whole waist because when drawn out it looks kind of small 😅
@ThriftFilippa5 ай бұрын
@@farishaaa_f once you cut out front and back piece on a folded fabric it should be 68 cm and it should fit then! You can also add maybe 1 centimeter or so to make it not so tight

Hii plz i have a question if you dont want to change anything about the back of the bodice can we just use the front boduce apttern for all of them?

I would say so yes! Normally the armhole of the back bodice is more straight than the front, but for this type of model i dont see it being as important!

It means cut on a fold! So you fold the fabric in half and place the pattern piece right on the folded edge to get a full piece.

I'm sorry but I followed all your procedure but the cutting part is difficult for me understand like do I have to cut everything in a folded fabric cuz thankfully I listen to tryna make it first on a waste cloth I cut all the drafts but mine was so smaller than yours I think I gotta fold the and cut the drafts tell me if I'm wrong 😢
@ThriftFilippa7 ай бұрын
Yes cut all pieces on the folded edge of a fabric, as they are only half of the pattern pieces! And for the sleeves only cut once on a folded fabric and you get two sleeves!
@Craft_with.love207 ай бұрын
Awww thank you so much for replying to me ❤️🫀 I repeatedly watched the cutting for like 5-6 times then I finally saw you cutting it on folded edge of the fabric thanks alot I'll update you about how my work turned out... if it turned out like yours I would be the most happiest person 🐈❤️

Hi! I tried making a prototype of the top part of the dress, just to see how it would fit me. I found out however, that the front part rides up too much. (The bodice part) How do I need to adjust my pattern for it to sit further down? Thank you in advance❤😊
@ThriftFilippa7 ай бұрын
Hii! It’s a bit hard for me to know without seeing it, perhaps the sleeve piece is too small or you should adjust the shape of the armhole seam both front and back, give it more of a curve for arm movements? Did you also maybe make the elastic too tight? Not sure if this is helpful, but it’s great that you did a prototype first!
@reenabecauseyes7 ай бұрын
@@ThriftFilippa Thank you so much! I checked again and I think the elastic might just be too short, so I'll have to switch it. Love love love the pattern so far :)
