I know that I should however, that will probably not happen. I hate my feet completely covered getting hot and sweaty.

Hello from Louisiana! Your garden is growing beautifully. May I offer a bit of advice, please pull your mulch from the house. The slab must be visible, if not you will for sure have an invasion of termites. Those open spaces in your brick is for the house to breathe and if you cover that, it starts to create moisture and next is termites. Good luck and again everything is beautiful.

This person is absolutely cor..pull the mulch a bit away from house

We have termite traps so I wasn’t too concerned about it, but I will absolutely take your advice and pull it away a bit thank you so much

I also have my home treated for termites by professional but it still happens to the most protected homes. But, I think it’s worth being cautious anyway.

What is the purpose of putting mulch ?
@Inthegardenwithkathy6 күн бұрын
Hi there, mulch serves various purposes one of the most important ones is keeping the soil moist. In addition to that, it also suppresses weeds and protects the soil from the sun, therefore retain the nutrients in the soil. Finally, it is aesthetically pleasing for some people. I hope this helps.

Mulch help retain moisture for the plants during hot dry weather and gives warmth during winter months

I had several die back over the winter in my garage. I thought they were dead but put them outside and they started in again. It was 2 sets of Mums that I had put out for Thanksgiving, 2 different Lantanas that I had in pots and 2 of my Mandevilla. So glad I waited to see if they would come back. Now I just need to trim them up.

Oh mums! That’s good to know. I was planning to put mine in the landscape once I was done with my fall decorating so I will see what happens with those next spring.

I just love your garden, and you have deffiently got me in the mood to plant some plants. also I had a aunt that used to shred up newspaper and lay around her plants, it was so many yrs ago i do not remember how that did for her, but she loved her plants inside and outside plants, and she always shared i couldnt tell you how many plants she started and gave to me over the yrs, of course today i do not have a single plant that she gave me and she passed away a few back.

The Jeep is not dirty enough LMAO j/k... nice Wrangler!! I am looking at getting a Wrangler next. I am a Jeep liberty Girl with a 6" suspension lift and 3" body lift on 32's and a whole new restructured suspension and differentials. Only washed my Jeep 2 times a year 1 after winter and the 2nd mid summer... Fall time I would Coat my Jeep in Mud for the winter so it doesn't get the northern rust body rot for a 20 yr old Jeep she had barely any surface rust being a Michigan Jeep with just under 100k miles on her.

In Texas we say that when you top off Crape Myrtle’s it’s Crape Murder! LOL I don’t know if it’s the same in Florida but there are very strong supporters in both camps. Although I believe the ‘never top a Crape Myrtle’ camp is the more popular option here. I have 3 in my yard and they bloom beautifully without pruning. (Other than new sprouts at the base). The garden is looking good and you will change the entire house just by replacing overgrown landscaping. Can’t wait to following along on the journey.

Love watching your garden grow! (Just a note: I could barely hear you at the beginning of this video.) Did you check the growth size of the butterfly bush? Mine gets cut back every year but grows back to over 6 ft wide x 6ft tall or more by fall (I'm in Michigan).
@Inthegardenwithkathy2 ай бұрын
Hi there, yes, it says 3 x 4. I’m going to keep it in check so it doesn’t go over 3 feet tall.
