I’ll always miss my father. He taught me so much, gave me my love of myth and history, supported all the crazy stuff I did when I was young. I remember, as I was getting into the car to go to my wedding, he said that if I changed my mind we could both take off for Las Vegas. I’ve been married for 46 years now. He died in 2005. My mom died in 93. He never stopped missing her.

Love it, I remember singing thi and many others in the pubs around Manchester in the seventies, since then I’ve educated myself and others about the true history of Ireland, just finished 16lives, Joseph Mary Plunkett and have passed the book on to my clever, rebellious granddaughter, god bless all the brave and beautiful freedom fighters past and present, Ireland will be united one day sooner than later 🇮🇪☘️

I put a ring on her finger 8 months later and married her when she was 16 53\years later I still worship the ground she walks on. Yes I loved her at 16 and love her more at 69. This song reminds me of the most beautiful girl I ever saw who I am lucky enough that she accepted my half baked proposal

Way back in the mists of time I arrived back home after three years attending a vocational education centre specialising in my chosen work related field. I opened the door of my parents home and instantly thought I was in the wrong place. A delicious smell filled the air of something meaty as well as vegetables and baking bread ...My mum can't cook soup from a can without supervision. I enter cautiously. My baby brother and 4 years old sister are sitting by the table or rather sister was and a stunningly beautiful girl was bent over strapping brother into high chair. She noticed me and startled yelps out in surprise. Sister looks at me and screamed my name launching herself at me. Oh I say I'm xxxxx . I'm xxx I'm babysitting for your mum she gone to the hospital to see your stepdad... She has gotten sister back in her chair are you hungry? My stomach instantly rumbled and she laughed. I sat down to the best meal I ever ate in my mother's house. A strong rich beef stew full of vegetables perfectly cooked with slices of fresh baked bread to stop up gravy I was in love by end of meal. I helped her put kids to bed and we chatted until mum's key in door sounded. She went and heated up meal for My mum and once she's eaten it and welcomed me home xxx said she was leaving to take bus home instantly my mother volunteered me to walk her to bus stop. I laughed and said I'll run her home I bought a car. I asked her out while taking her home. She was then 15 I was 19
