So surprised and excited to see you react to this! TGCF is my favorite of MXTX's works, so its always nice to see someone new get introduced to it! Having said that I will admit that for all this donghua is very well animated, there are definitely some details that get left out/cause confusion for anyone who hasn't read the books or manhua. Still, it does a fairly good job overall, so I'm super excited to see your reaction to the rest of s1 (and hopefully s2 as well)! Also, if you plan on watching more Chinese animation I would definitely recommend MDZS, its also based on one of MXTX's books series, and, if I had to compare, has more fight scenes than TGCF with good animation! Plus its fully animated, so you can watch the complete series and get the whole story, while TGCF is no where near being fully animated. If you want something a little different I'd also recommend The King's Avatar. It's got 3 seasons, a 3 episode OVA, and a movie. Aside from s3(which I don't recommend watching), everything is pretty decently animated, and its fun overall, plus the last 20-25 minutes of the movie are essentially one long fight scene and its really good.

I’m so glad you picked dub. The original Chinese dub is top tier, but it was my first chinese dub so I was so confused the first time I watched it. It was hard to follow the plot at first. The dub is definitely a lot easier to watch for first timers.

such a captivating story but the novel is so long, i wonder how many seasons they would need to cover it fully. i hope you'll react to Mo Dao Zu Shi (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) next. it's based on the novel from the same author who wrote Heaven Official's Blessing. the anime is already finished for this story an it's amazing as well.

A few months (?) after that: (spoiler) A few months after that: Xie Lian ascends for the second time and is immediately banished. soon after that: Feng Xin and Mu Qing ascend at roughly the same time as Generals Nan Yang and Xuan Zhen. Many years~ Present time: third ascension

Also xie lian was a crown prince and royalty and at his first ascension, after his kingdom fell all these events happened after that

This event is after his kingdom fell also even after his second ascension, everything that will happen in season 1 & 2 is after it. His first and second ascension holds a whole story which is his most glorious and worst years of his life. It will be made in later seasons according to the books. Xie lian was 17 in his first ascension and the timeline for the first and second ascension is not by many roughly 10 years and the time after his second ascension and banishment(which was only of few minutes) it has been 800 years in present time so Xie lian is cultivating in mortal world after his second banishment and in that time all these events happened one after another.

I understand the stigma but this show still carries it along, I mean misinformation. If seropositive person is on ARV and retain the status of undetectable, even the partner can have unprotected intercourse. This is not from my brain but from National HIV curriculum in the United States and I am affiliated with one of the regional ATEC(AIDS training and education center). If and IF the couple really concerned, the partner can take PreP although it is not even recommended by the contemporary scientific knoweldge. But I understand. This show is based on the biography of the author and information was not updated then. Health literacy really matters.
