If it isn’t the fuel injector then it’s for sure engine related. If you unplug coils and injectors and start vehicle if should crank over and sound smooth and even. I have a video on a equinox with uneven cylinders. That would also be a sign if it’s even to the injectors.

@aliseyedi16 i checked everything on mine it was on its 2nd actuator. And I can confirm the chain was sretched

I believe that lack of oil changes. Poor oil quality. Short trips. Cause premature wear on the vtc actuator. But when it rattle’s even when not cold the entire system should be checked including those filters that I addressed on my video aswell as checking the the vtc oil solenoid. So there are variables. Note I was a licensed technician at Honda during the start of these vtc issues. I’ve spoken to the engineers and scene vtc revisions and the issues would come back. I can say that on this vehicle because it’s in my family has not had the rattle return and years ago when o only replaced vtc. Rattle returned within 7-8 months.

I saw the same rattle. On a vid. Was not the vtc. It was the belt tensioner

My buddy has no had an issue with the vehicle. He drives it 7-8 months of the year it doesn’t see winter.

It’s going to happen soon. I’m recovering from a ruptured Achilles. Unfortunately that has made it difficult to do much of anything . But on the list is brake service. Rear and from differential service. Brake fluid service.

Haha. Yeah it’s the Porsche tax lol. They can be intimidating but once you realize a cars a car and as long as you have the service information you can resolve and diagnose most issues. They become less intimidating

We’ll the 2009 is previous generation. The communication and wiring is completely different. If you supplied me a wiring diagram I could tell you everything you need to know. But a hood place to start would be wiggling that harness between the vehicle and the door. Broken wires are very common.

@@BarbermanMalik no problem. Even if I can guide you in the right direction. If you had a scanner you could check to see if the switch works and rule that out. I’ve been to Chicago . We picked up a car there in Joliet. Just always remember the cayenne and the Touareg share electronics. So make sure you search the net for any issues or solutions that work for both.

Always warm up the vehicle run it around the block especially winter time. Summer isn’t a big deal.

You gotta loosen it at the top but with the spring compressor on. That’s why it’s important to mark orientation before removal and make sure it all gets lined up.

I didn’t get as much out as I thought. But yes I did hear the chamber open when commanded. It isn’t much fluid in my opinion. I just followed the procedure in the scanner prompts. I used a autel. I’m sure ista is even more straight forward

Bro, the cars been on axle stands for the past 3 days. I cannot get it to move. I borrowed an impact and that hasn't worked. I've drowned it in wd40, put my breaker bar on it under tension with the car jack and it still won't surrender 😂 I'm waiting on my heart gun being returned today and gonna try the melted crayon plus heat.

@@ehtishamahmad6851 he's just trying to increase his chances of getting the job to 100%. Change the transfer case oil TWICE in a span of two weeks. That fixes the problem

Highly recommend make sure it is done properly with correct fluid. Also people have commented that doing it twice over the course of 6 months makes it even better

Sounds correct

Chain can skip. Engine blows. Or vtc can internally grenade. I haven’t personally scene either but I know someone who’s skin skipped enough and valves hit pistons

So probably something to do just to be safe

If you think it’s worth it I’ll have to have a shop do it, what do you think I should tell them to replace to avoid as much cost as possible or should I just let them do their own diagnostic? Thanks a bunch

@benmeyers2022 confirm rattle by removing serpentine belt leaving vehicle over night. Then start in morning confirming rattle. Then you should replace everything. Most important is vtc actuator. Tensioner and chain. Needs to be installed and tightened correctly before vtc is locked or it could be damaged. Super important

You could have multiple issues. Because smoke from tail pipe could be. Valve cover has built in diaphragm for crank case vent they go bad. You may have multiple issues.

@@MyHomeGarageI already replaced the ccv valve that is top of the valve cover but I was checking online and looks like the valve cover itself has other valves inside and the only way to fix it it’s replacing the valve cover . I am waiting for the Hight pressure fuel pump to arrive today and I will change it and change oil and let’s see what happens, next week I will receive vacuum pump I will replaced and keep you posted The car is a x3 n20 2013 with 95k miles

Sounds like 2 separate issues maybe turbo leak

Wiring diagram I believe the mirrors may run off a separate module that isn’t in door. That why everything else works. I should set up online diagnostics. Guide you through wiring schematics

@@MyHomeGarage thanks for the response. Ya I took the mirror apart and metered the wires and there’s no power to the driver LED indicator, or the mirror heaters, the passenger mirror indicator and mirror heaters work. I just decided not to care but if I could know how to fix it I would.

@@otto9875 these vehicles have left and right side modules for everything. So there all independent. Minus rear doors I believe come from the front doors.
